SALISBURY, Md. -- You'd think more people would check the seat before they get comfortable in a public restroom.
For the second time in a month, police in Salisbury, Md., are investigating a report of a man glued to a toilet seat.
The latest incident happened Sunday night at Wal-Mart. An employee found the 20-year-old man stuck to the seat and banging on a wall for help. The man was treated at a local hospital.
Late in the evening on April Fool's Day, a man got glued to a seat at a local Denny's restaurant.

Actually, it doesn't. Super glue only dries in the absence of air. if you covered a toilet seat with it, it would stay wet for hours, but will bond immediately once someone sits on it.SharkOnLand wrote:The last time this happened, didn't they find out that the guy did it to himself? Super glue (which is about the only type of glue you'd be able to use, since it bonds skin) dries VERY fast, so the person would have to put the glue on the seat minutes before someone sat on it...

Hmm.... my wife puts it on the surface her fingernails all the time when she breaks one... its dries pretty quick, and it's exposed....rednekkPH wrote:Actually, it doesn't. in the crack it will dry quickly, because there is little or no air. the excess is probably wiped off. Try it - squirt some on your table, and see how long it takes to dry.SharkOnLand wrote:Hmm.... my wife puts it on the surface her fingernails all the time when she breaks one... its dries pretty quick, and it's exposed....rednekkPH wrote:Actually, it doesn't. who sits on the toilet without looking at it, cleaning/wiping it first?
Seems like glue would look like spooge.
btw,
I've always wanted to try the saran wrap thing in the ladies room at work but then I'd have to feel the wrath of the big mamas....

Super Glue and nail glue aren't the same thing- nail glue works considerably better for everything I've ever tried to put back together. My dad's an electrician, and had never heard of using it on anything else- his coworkers made fun of him the first time they saw it, until they saw how much better it worked (not for gluing people to toilet seats, I don't think that would work).SharkOnLand wrote:Hmm.... my wife puts it on the surface her fingernails all the time when she breaks one... its dries pretty quick, and it's exposed....rednekkPH wrote:Actually, it doesn't.
