My father and mother are 64 & 63 respectively, and they've gone to the concert every year since '92 (except last year when we boycotted the PNC park show ).
Like the other folks have mentioned, if they are up to hanging around a hot parking lot and then standing for a few more hours during the show (all the while surrounded by people enjoying a few cocktails), they should be fine.
My mom will be the 81-year-old at Tinley in August, for her fourth concert, but first real tailgate. She's ready for it. Took her the first time during her snowbird month in Florida four or five years ago. Each February she's wanted to know whether maybe he'll be performing while we're there, so we made Jax in 2005, as well as Wrigley.
As others say, the climbing and standing is a problem, but she doesn't complain, and she'd have trouble with the lawn, so got pavillion seats this year so she can finally make Tinley Park.
Of course, there's "that song." At her first show, JB said after he sang it that his mother never liked that song. She turned to me and said: "Neither does your mother." She'd heard Buffett on cassette tapes in the car for years, and never realized I'd always fast-forwarded it past "that song." I don't bother skipping it any more; she just raises her eyebrows and laughs.
You also might get her "A Pirate Looks at 50." My mom couldn't put it down.

Too funny...My Mom LOVES Buffett too but she isn't brave enough for a concert. That and her physical shape would be a true test but it doesn't stop her from phlockings and singing along every chance she gets...she even registered on BN...she's MangoNana!!!
"Mommy, when is Jimmy Buffett coming to OUR house? We go see him ALL THE TIME??" (Actual quote from my 5 y/o keet)

I think that might be a compliment.
Of course it's a compliment! You're the coolest person I know!
My ship she has a rudder, but I don’t know where to steer

Now that is TOO funny!!!!
Thanks for sharing.
(This reminded me of the time I couldn't wait to listen to A Salty Piece of Land on CD in my car while driving home with my 80+ yr old step-mom from a girls' weekend trip. I was a little embarrassed. I can't remember which part it was, but you can imagine some!!!)
