I,ve seen Todd twice in Fayetteville, Ar. One time the show was great and I enjoyed the hell out of it. The next time he got shitty on Jager and only played about 45 minutes and went down Dickson Street to party. I do enjoy his music.

He lives maybe 25 min away from me and about a mile from a friend of mine in East Nashville although I've never met him my buddy says when he's not touring you can always run into him at the neighborhood coffee shop.

I don't remember who took this photo, but it looks like one of mine from Luckenbach.

Jake, do you live near Nanci Griffith too? Isn't she near there? Or Guy Clark?

conched- I'm not sure if either of them live in East Nashville or not. East Nashville has become a hot spot for artist like Snider it's really come a long way.

He's from your part of the Northeast right. Rose City? Tillamook County? Anywhere near you?

Probably just a state away!!!

Great story.

http://www.toddsnider.net/esp_503.html

Snider first attracted critical attention with "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues," a satire on alt-rock done in a folk/ rock style. The song appeared on his first release in '94, Songs for the Daily Planet on Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Records. The cut was not planned to be included on the album, but one Canadian critic became obsessed with the tune and lobbied so hard for it's inclusion that Buffett representatives added it to the album.

But the fact that Buffett liked Snider enough to sign him to his label didn't mean that the two were buddies. Buffett once chunked most of the contents of a bowl of fruit at the singer backstage just before Snider was about to open for the Parrothead leader because he refused to perform his hit on the show. Snider gleefully recalls the incident. "He sure did, and I had a white shirt on too. I was about to go on, and he was hitting me with these strawberries." Snider says the fruit attack was brought on by a fit of stubbornness. "I was more in this place where I didn't want someone telling me what to play. It was probably on the set list until he told me it had to be on the set list. And then I decided I didn't want it on." But things worked out for both. In the middle of his attack, Buffett started to laugh and then apologized. "Which is why I think that's how we stayed friends that day he threw fruit at me. I just sat there and ducked," Snider laughs. "Sometimes its funny how you have this working relationship that develops into a friendship when you let go on each other for the first time." Although Snider is now signed to Prine's Oh Boy label, he and Buffett have remained friends --" just three days ago I sang `Volcano' with him at the Nashville concert," Snider relates.

Big difference. When someone mentions their hometown it's in reference to where they're originally from. In this case Charlie Daniel's hometown is Wilmington, NC.

hometown
One entry found for hometown.

Main Entry: home·town
Pronunciation: -'taun
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
: the city or town where one was born or grew up; also : the place of one's principal residence

I guess you are both right. Pretty much an unimportant, and unnecessary discussion. I thought this was about Todd. Where is his hometown?

Agreed and thanks for clearing that up...I was just chattering and was just stating what I've heard CD say many times about Mount Juliet. I really didn't think anyone would anyone would care about what is statistically correct...but ya never know I guess.

You can also go to Comcast Rhapsody and hear his music. It will let you listen to whole cd's at no charge. You might have to have Comcast Cable, but I'm not sure.
