Paul Simon

Post by OceanCityGirl »

was on a morning talk show this week and is now on SNL. He doesn't look very well. The way he moves his mouth sort of looks like he had a stroke. I do love his music though.

I was listening but not watching-will have to watch more carefully during the second song. He is getting older, isn't he! His new album is getting really good reviews. I too am a big fan of his, and the music he creates.

Hmmm-he looks ok to me-his face is never especially animated, and hte enunciation is as clear as ever, so I just don't see it.

He looked fine at Jazzfest, but we were way at the back.

Has anyone else noticed that he looks a lot like a slightly heavier Jimmy when he performs?

Probably that I just haven't seen him perform in awhile. That's why the age thing was so shocking to me. In my mind he's locked in at the video he did with Chevy Chase in the 80's even though I've seen him alot since. I've been re-listening to alot of his and S&G's cds lately.

After all the drugs, Brian Wilson looks a little weird didn't he? Same goes with Paul Simon. The 70's really messed alot of musicians up. Don't get me wrong though, I still think both Brian Wilson and Paul Simon are cool musicians.

I think Paul Simon looks fine physically...he's just getting older. I sometimes forget that musicians age just like the rest of us. I think he's right around 60 years old now. Not the young man he once was.

I've always been a fan but never caught him live in concert. Hopefully I'll catch him on this upcoming tour.

Oh, I think Brian Wilson is an entirely different story---the drugs really seem to have done some major long term damage in his case. Have you watched him perform-he looks like some sort of robotic creature. He is amazingly talented, but I find watching him to be terribly sad.

I think if Paul Simon had a stroke, we would have heard about that.

The last time I saw him on the TV/DVD was with Jimmy at the Big Apple to Big Easy show, and Paul looked like was in great form and having a great time. Compare this with the last time I saw him live, with Art, in Philadelphia in 2004, not having such a good time, collecting the money... but still no stroke candidate.

Paul Simon will be 65 this year - could we get that much from Jimmy?

I got Paul Simon tickets yesterday during the presale for the Pacific Amphitheatre in SoCal....the tickets go on sale to the public Saturday. The concert is on Fri, July 28.

...and for his age, I don't see anything bad about Paul Simon's looks...he seems fine to me.

Paul Simon will be 65 years old in October. I was lucky enough to catch Simon and Garfunkel in concert in the early 80's. I hope I'm still rockin' when I'm in my 60's.

I fierst saw Simon and Garfunkel in about '68 at the Hollywood Bowl, in concert with the Lovin Spoonful. Saw S&G again in 83 or so, and then again a couple of years ago, and though the chemistry was not there, the sound was wonderful!

I think he maybe he's just starting to show his age. I too love him. He's one my top 3 i could play anytime. Buffett is one, and Merle Haggard is the 3rd. Haggard also is showing his age. I thought he looked bad, but he's just old. Somebody who looks really bad is Kenny Chensey, I got to meet him and looks all wrinkly in person then on stage or tv.
