EMS Week May 14-20, 2006

Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line."

To all First Responders, EMTs, and Paramedics: Thank you!

I was a volunteer on the 3rd oldest "Volunteer Rescue Squad' in the US.

That was in High School, and I was a certified EMT.

It is tough work to be startled from sleep in the middle of the night to rush out and have enough wits about you to save someone's life.

Paid or not paid I know first-handed these valiant members of our society deserve our respect and admiration.

I will now step off the "soap-box"

Yes!!! Please thank anyone you know involved in EMS,especially the VOLUNTEERS!!!!! We are giving them snacks and stuff all week in our squad room. I am not sure what other emergency rooms do, but it is a little something to say thank you!
