Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris

Just picked up their CD today, All The Roadrunning, after listening to some snippets of it online. I love it! I think they are a great combo. It seems that lately when I've bought CDs there are always at least a few songs I don't like...so far I like everything on this CD. I'm glad I took the chance. :D

Anyone else have it or heard it?

Hey Kath...

Thanks for the tip. I know this just came out and I've been meaning to have a listen. Two great artists...I had a feeling it would be good. They are coming to Boston on their summer tour this year. I might have to look into tickets.

Oooooh, take me, take me!

I listened to it online before I read the review at Amazon, which more or less panned it. It's possible they could have put more into it, but sometimes I think folks spend way too much time worrying about how they think things should be rather than enjoying them for what they are.

I like the sound and I like the songs...that's good enough for me. :)

I've definitely been thinking about picking it up. Mark Knopfler is one of those people I wish I had loved a looooooong time ago. :D

So far, no Denver date. I'm kickin' myself for not seeing him at Red Rocks last year when I could.

I got into him when I was a young kid because my dad was a big Dire Straits fan and always had them on the radio. What a great voice he's got.

His voice just gives me shivers, but I love love love love how he plays a guitar. It's just one of those unmistakable sounds.

FYI, Knopfler did an outstanding cd w/ Chet Atkins a few years before he (Atkins) passed away. Incredible guitar work, and they clearly were both getting a real charge out of creating with each other. Can't for the life of me remember what's called, sorry.

Just listened to it for about the sixth time. I expect to "this is us" to get even more popular this summer. A great song. However the album as whole seems to have been released to catapult just that one song, if you are a fan of Knopflers voice more than his guitar you won't be too disapointed. All in all it's at times dreary and plodding and much worse doesn't live up to the talent of the two artists.
