Re: adobe pdf help
I don't think there is. Best thing to do is to cut and paste the text into a new document, but then you loose the formatting, which is what pdf is about.txaggirl91 wrote:is there anyway to convert an adobe pdf into a word document?

Alot of times you can find pdfs with fill in forms, or if you have the full version of acrobat, you can create fill in forms, or change text on the pdf.

i've tried the cutting and pasting and it comes out like a image.
my sister wants to edit this brochure for her work. they only have the pdf version now for some reason.
i'm pretty technically inclinded and i've hit a wall on this one. i have a feeling i need the full version of adobe for this... or just redo it for her in word, power point or publisher and send it to her...

Not all scanners can do it, but, you can print it out, and then scan it into your puter, and transfer or save it as a text file......I'm drawing a blank right now as to specifically how to do it (i've only done it once on this new scanner, and that was a while ago, and I don't have the time to double-check and try it right now)

You'll really need additional software to convert. There are a few out there that work well. Here's what I've used in the past.

I have a utility called PDF Conveter 2 that will convert *MOST* PDF docs into Word -- the exceptions are those that have large graphic areas and that confuses the product.
If you want, email it to PirateJohn@aol.com and I'll do what I can to help you.
As an alternative, as several pholks have pointed out, you can cut and paste the test into a Word document. I have Adobe Acrobat Professional ver. 6.0 and that has a text acquisition function; I have heard that the newer Adobe Readers have that function now but I cannot confirm that.
Good luck!

LOL!! Details, details ...
I gotta read those details a bit closer. Funny, because I remember this discussion from a month or two ago but I thought that it was on another forum.

I posted another thread elsewhere that My friend John needs help with something similiar at the Submarine Museum. They are patrol reports from WWII. Do you have any ideas that will him/us out? Converting the documents made from 35mm microfiche to computers? Mot changing the doll....just cleaning them up and making them more presentable/legible and printable in digital/computer format.
Scanning does not work. Numerous scanners have been tried. They don't pick up all of the data correctly, so a lot of it is illegedgeable/unusuable and unsuitable for use.
Also there is at least one roll of 35mm microfiche that also needs to be converted to such format. The budget for the museum is quite tight.

I have an old style micrfiche reader at home -- and I was about ready to throw it out -- but mine reads flat sheets. I have seen the ones that take rolls at public libraries but it's been years.
Many of the library readers had provisions to print out copies of the frames. Obviously if you can print them out they can be scanned (and if it helps any, Sam, since you and I are neighbors, I have access to a large printer/scanner that will sheet feed documents and convert them to .PDF format in bulk).
Anywho, there are something like 35 microfiche viewers on eBay today. You might check there and see if you can find one that will print the 35mm rolls. Who knows -- maybe with a little ingenuity you could convert one to digital camera equipment.
Good luck!
