Outlaw country singer/songwriter Todd Snider plans a busy summer leading up to the release of his anticipated new album 'The Devil You Know' (New Door/UMe) on August 8th.
Snider joins all star casts on three tribute records for music icons Kris Kristofferson, Kinky Friedman and Peter Case. On 'The Pilgrim: A Celebration of Kris Kristofferson' (June 27 on American Roots Publishing) Snider, who recorded "Maybe You Heard", joins Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Jessi Colter, Willie Nelson and more to celebrate the noted songwriter's 70th birthday. Kristofferson requested Snider sing at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony and calls him "a true songwriter, with the heart and humor of John Prine, the wild unpredictability of Roger Miller, and a fresh, original spirit and freedom of imagination that's absolutely his own."
Snider also pays tribute to fellow funny man Kinky Friedman as he sings "They Ain't Making Jews Like Jesus Anymore" on "Why the Hell Not...the Songs of Kinky Friedman" (August, Sustain Records) and to prolific songwriter Peter Case on "Travelin' Light" recorded for the 3 CD charity box 'A Case For A Case' (out now on Hungry for Music).
