I have to get back in the habit of taking a walk on 5th Avenue every day at lunchtime 8)

Is that cause there's a lot of eye candy on 5th Ave at lunch :-? 8)
I'll probably go straight to hell for saying this, but one of the best spots for girl watching near my office is on the steps in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral. Just sit there and enjoy the view.

I like your list! :) :)

No Lightning bugs in Colorado, though. :( I miss those.

Sy? I love the fresh fruits INCLUDING watermelon, too!! :)

Lilacs and other flowers in bloom. :)

I could do without the bugs and insects (especially anything in the bee family), however. :-?

Mornings in my Zen garden, listening to the waterfall and watching the koi swim . . .
No school.
Hot days at the cottage with sailing and swimming.
Reading everything in sight.
Having time to write.
Fresh produce everywhere, locally and organically grown.
A trip to Cape Breton and the Bras D'Or Lakes.
Long shadows at sunset on the flowers and trees in my yard.

My favorite part of summer is when the water in Lake Huron is finally warm enough for swimming and skiing!

I forgot honeydew, too. But it doesn't get really sweet and juicy until end of June or so around here. Ahh I love summer :)

But you're right about the bee family. I had our bug guys come around about a week and a half ago and spray the heck out of the outside of the house. Bees/wasps and I don't get along too well either :(

Brent Burns' song "Snowbird Season" expresses the same sentiment. It is a truly hysterical song.

The air is almost always in the 70s that time of year, on good days the water gets into the 70s also

Favorite thing about summer is the first week of Sept., the beaches around here empty again. The fish are running, the water is wonderfully warm and there's even decent waves caused by offshore hurricanes. 8) Not to mention the keets are back in school.
