Without taking any sides here, just to comment on the gay marriage issue. The problem is the full faith and credit between states. if a couple is married in cali and moves to montana, there marriage would not be recognized.
As to the dixie chicks, as usual SMLCHNG is correct, lets stop the bickering and name calling. A political discussion can be civil.
Of course I believe all politicians are evil, no matter what "party" they claim to belong to, so Im starting my own Island. Applications for citizenship will be mailed shortly.

Clearly the biggest enemy of the USA are rednecks and other stupid people who would lump all other peoples together just because they come from the same nation, religion, or ethnic group.

Who precisely are these "towelheads?" Danny Thomas? Tony Shalhoub? John Sanunu? Donna Shalala? Former Senator George Mitchell? Salma Hayek? Kathy Najimi? Christa McAullife? Dr. Ahmed Zewail and Dr. Elias Corey (two Americans who won a Nobel Prize for Chemistry)? Doug Flutie? Paula Abdul?

Appearantly Selma has a Lebanese father and a Mexican mother and was born in Vercruz State. Her dad is one of the very, very few Arabs in Mexico. I'm sure that in what's-his-face (the guy who posted the comment about towelheads -- I have already forgotten who that is)'s view Selma there is doubly bad because she's both Mexican and Arabic. No doubt here specifically to steal jobs away from those more deserving gringo actresses while planning to set bombs for her "towelhead" friends.
