I really do not recall ever actually having a white sauce pizza.

Pizza is suppose to red sauce and all the way thick crust.amd loaded with everything BUT VEGGIES....mushrooms are not veggies. No peppers no onions. Olives and anything else for the most part are fair game.
Veggies on pizza what are you referring to broccoli? cailiflower? green beans? green peas???

SHEESH next thing you know people will be wanting tofu and chocolate ice cream on pizza.

I never thought of pineapple being good on a pizza, but it worked. So pineappple is ok. I even enjoy anchovies on pizza. I don't have to add salt to the pizza. 8)

I love clams and and I love seafood. Pile them on the pizza!!!

If you don't like it, and are not eating it, and won't even try it, then don't knock it, and don't buy it.... After all, it isn't your money, someone else is spending, to enjoy something they like eating.

How do you know what it tase like until you try it? You might like it, if you don't like it after trying it, then you will know for sure.

OMG...the clam pizza at Mario Batali's is unbelievable... garlicky clams with a white wine sauce over the thinnest, crispiest pizza crust. If you think about it, pizza dough is bread; you deep fry clams in BREADING, so its similar, in a way. DELICIOUS..

I wonder if most people are thinking about Dominos/Pizza Hut kind of pizzas with all that thick doughy stuff....If you've got a coal-oven NY pizza with a coal-blistered thin crust, totally fresh clams steamed to perfection with lots of garlic and a little bit of fresh buffalo mozzarella....drool drool mmmmmmm. One of the original pizzerias in NY (Lombardi's) is famous for their clam pie. TRY IT! :)

I completely blame all you guys for my 3 day old craving for linguini and clam sauce. And I've checked around at about 10 places here locally, and can't find it anywhere.

Anyone in the Indy area know where I can get some?

RW, No worries you said you would try it and did not insult it, so that is what counts. 8)

I am not saying or even trying to say Domino's or other such pizzas are great or outstanding pizza's but I cannot stand a thin crust on a pizza. Every thin crust that I have had, may as well have been made on a thin paper plate for crust. If you like a thin crust good for you. Thin crust pozzas, are just not for me.

That is why there so many types to choose from. Something that everyone can or will like.

Money(Penny)
GOOD!!!! Leaves that many more for me to eat!!! heheheheheh!!! 8)

There is a commercial on tv, for some (appaently ) buffet restaurant, that shows families and keets being there, and shows all kinds of pizzas, then shows a keet, and says "you can even get a pizza with macaroni and cheese on it" or something like that.

As long as the keet eats it I guess, ( but it doesn't appeal to me)...... so something for everyone applies..... 8)

Unfortunately I don't.

You might could a couple of cans of the minced or baby whole clams and maybe use some of the fesh "store made" pasta or cook your own, and try to make up a batch for yourself, not the same , but it might cure your hankering long enough to find something better.... just a thought...

But I know a place in this area, I can get some good and fresh clams ( vherry stones and others are usually available) and probably make some up for you, but that does not do you any good up there.

I loved this pizza. Didn't think I would, but with the wood grilled crust... and spices, it was really good.

I've also had smoked oysters on pizza and it was good too!

And even though I'm here in the NW... I can't do the Pineapple thing. Or onions.
I wanna go back to the Island...

See you in Boston, September 2nd!

Sam-

Thanks for the thought, I just may have to stop by the store on the way home.... Unfortunatly, there is just something wierd about buying seafood in a place that is 1000 miles from the ocean. I miss living in Boston for that very reason...

Once, on the way to Logan to fly home for a suprise visit, I stopped and bought live lobster straight off the boat, boxed it in seaweed and promptly flew nonstop to Indiana with it. I called my dad from the airport, and told him the UPS guy was delivering some lobster, and to have the pot of water boiling when he gets there. I showed up, rang the door bell, and my dad answers the door, grabs the lobster, and tips me $20... He did not realize it was me until my mom asked him if he was going to just let me stand outside all night.

Oh, yeah, wasn't this thread about Pizza? There's this great place in here in Noblesville called Sinclairs that has a fantastic BBQ chicken pizza. They don't serve linguini with clam sauce though...

I'm a seafood snob- I would eat it in a heartbeat close to the ocean, but I'm not a fan of canned shellfish and also afraid of food poisoning.

You all would be as lost as I am at some of the pizza joints around here ...

Got all sorts of weird stuff on pizzas - yes, the seafood in white sauce is considered not weird ....

There is potato :o .... peanut sauce .... artichokes .....spinach .. all sorts of stuff in the "gourmet" pizza places ...

I struggle to find something I like - but that is a sign of the times.

Things change - pizza is no longer just something that is round (we can get square ones) with red sauce and one topping or a few regular toppings ....

they like everything else - have gone gourmet ...

I dont like it - but I just go find a place that sells the pizzas I like - not pizza hut or domino's crap ... a real authentic italian pizza!!

I love gourmet pizzas, but it's not really pizza. Honestly though, the only thing I really like on traditional pizza is mushrooms, but I'll tolerate pepperoni- I pick everything else off.

The one good thing I'll say for Detroit is they know how to make a pie!! The pizzaria we always use has a nice, thick crust, like 2 pounds of fresh mozzarella and is topped with a great sauce.

The crust thing must have a lot to do with what part of the country you come from.
