AURORA — A large merry-go-round was swiped from a carnival being set up in the parking lot of Westfield Fox Valley Center on Tuesday.
According to a police report, a man pretending to be a carnival employee took a truck filled with merry-go-round parts at 10:45 a.m., saying he was going to filll up with gas.
Employees believe the man had applied to work at the carnival in April, and was told to return with an ID card to finish his application, the police report said.
On Tuesday morning, the man returned and led another carnival employee to believe he had been hired. The suspect told the employee he needed to take the truck out to be filled with gas. He then got into the truck and drove away, police said.
