Take and dig a 100 ft deep 1/2 mile wide moat all the way across the Mexican US Border.

Take all of the dirt from the moat and use it to rebuild New Orleans on highground.

Allow the moat to fill up with water.

Take all of the alligators from Florida that are eating/attacking .people and turn them lose into the moat...

Seems like a nice simple solution and every one wins!!!..... Perhaps Mexico would start caring about the people there, as they claim they do. Just look at how they treat illegal immigrants into Mexico.

I would LOVE TO!! I have no idea when I will be up that way again, but I always had a great time there!
As you said Canada is the only or perhaps a few of the only country's to ever pay America back in full and has stood beside through thick and thin.
Our Countries are no doubt the best of friends!

I enjoyed all of my visits and stays in Canada. ( I did not mean to be insulting Canada as a whole or a nation or a group,,... just socialized medicine and the long waits for health care and WHY it is not as good as it sounds or as some people believe such to be.)

I love back bacon and the beer and of course the friendly people there ( well outside the FRENCH ONLY SNOBS/twerps. I wonder if they realize how much money they cost Canada or at least their Province, not that they care at all!!!) but I did meet some very nice shop owners in that area who did help me out. I will forever be thankful to them for their kindness and help. Unfortunately,I have forgotten the name of the place over the years and I would be afraid to mention it in public if I did. Things were quite "sticky" at the time ( I guess they still are) but that is NOT all of Canada!

Just like anywhere else people are people no matter where you go!!!
Anytime you want to come down for a visit , come on down, just let me know when, is all you got to do.

We can find something good to grill ( seafood and/ or beef) and have several different beers or other adult beverages of choice, and a lot of Buffett, and some live entertainment . Maybe even get some time on the river or elsewhere. BE SURE TO BRING YOUR CAMERA, ( film/extra memory and batteries....)

#4, that Mexico actually has some excellent physicians and clinics. Yes, it gets spotty in rural areas (been there, seen that) but you have the same situation in rural Texas, Alaska, and so forth? In cities like Monterrey (very clean and metropolitan) your medical choices are excellent.

#5, that if you fire your Mexican employee that you have to give them 3 months severance pay? Certainly not bad from the standpoint of the employee, and judging by the number of US companies rushing to Mexico they can handle those conditions when their feet are held to the fire.

#6, employers are required to give their employees a Christmas bonus. It's about half a month's salary, IIRC.

#7, in practice (because they don't try as hard to collect them) Mexican taxes are lower than in the USA.

#8 ... well, you get the picture.

And I have heard the latest round of anti-Mexican propaganda that is going around about La Migra, the Mexican immigration authorities. 90% of it is BS, and it's embarrassing that so many gringos believe that stuff.

This attitude of "well, move there then" doesn't solve any of the problems that we have in the USA. Instead of copping an attitude you characters need to think seriously about solving some of the problems in the USA (like declining living conditions and inadequate health care for a major portion of the populace) rather than making excuses.

You need to take a hard look outside the USA. To Canada for instance. No one has developed the perfect health care system, but at the moment we basically don't have ANY health care system.

As far as this nonsense about immigration being a problem, well ... it simply isn't. You want to build some sort of barrier along the US/Mexican border? I'd prefer to fence in the rednecks that won't work and welcome the migrants that are happy to work hard and who have some ambition. Actually, the only person that I have ever known who bought ***** in Mexico and snuck it back across the border was a high-flying Washington DC corporate gal that I used to date during my own corporate days. And she wasn't a druggie either, as far as I know. Dunno what her motivation was.

There are a lot of meds that don't require a prescription in Mexico but ***** is one that is closely regulated down there.

If you have a legitimate, medical reason for needing ***** and have a prescription from a US or Mexican MD then you won't get hassled. But if you are "picking them up for someone else" or some story like that then the pharmicist may give them to you, and as soon as you walk out the door they are on the phone with the local cops. Pretty much the same system that we have here, if they think that you are desperate.
