Not to say that a 30% increase in ticket prices this year doesn't consitute a major increase in price, but my guess is that Jimmy was calling it quits he'd do as many shows as possible and there would be a SIGNIFICANT increase in ticket prices. And yes, there would be shows far and wide - Boise and Nashville might get a show in the same year.

Eesh! And I thought 'End of the World' had to do with the "Hitchhiker's " [Guide, and etc.], you know, the series of sort of cult books and the film that came out this past year or so... he's pretty literate in his own way, and Savannah probably reads them, 'cause ours who are that age do. Probably I'm thinking cleverer than it was meant to be?

I jumped on the bus in '93 and heard from some grizzled parrotheads at my first show that that would be JB's last tour. I have heard some variation of the same news every year since then.
Reality: The end will come one day. I don't think it will be with great fanfare.
HOWEVER, in recent years Jimmy has cut back on his dates, with fewer shows each year. Could it be he is "weening the phlock"?

Now if thats nto a reason to continue on I don't know what is!!!!!!!!!
You know my only fear is that, well, he aint getting younger! Maybe its the fact that I am only 24 and I can't imagine being 50 let along 60 odd years old. I don't mean to offend, its just hard to get your head around.

Look at the folks still touring such as Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Ralph Stanley, Merle Haggard, Van Morrison, the Stones, etc. Buffett most likely will continue to tour as long as it makes him happy. Folks seem to make far too big of a deal out of the possibility of him suddenly hangin' it up and/or worrying about who will take his place. It's been well over ten years since I saw him in concert last and life goes on. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him one more time I strongly suspect life will continue to go on even if I don't. As much I love Buffett, there's lots of other artists out there to see as well.

LOL aint it the truth! he did freak me out this year by cuttin down the size of the band and the name of the tour sorta seemed odd until I found out why it's called that. The guys makes way too much money for way too many people for him to give it all up now. THAT is a completely different topic!tryin' to reason wrote:Can we save this string and re-post it in the Spring when speculation starts about next year's tour??
Seems a waste of effort to do it all over again from scratch every year...
