The Grrrowl was a farm team for the Edmonton Oilers, who are in the Stanley Cup Finals. This could be interesting

"it's always about the violins with you, isn't it Moriarity?"
"um sir... that's violence. Not violins..."
"ahhh. well, right then. Knew a violin player from Birmingham once. Nasty piece of work. Easy to confuse the two, you see."

I'm feeling your pain there Side! It doesn't look good for my local team, the Flint Generals in the United Hockey League. Won't be surprised if we have no hockey in the 2006-2007 season.
It's disappointing because in my opinion minor league hockey can be a real bargain price-wise and in most of these smaller arenas you never have a bad seat. You get a real feel for the game.
Anytime you fork out the big bucks to see the NHL you're most likely sitting in nose bleed seats.

Columbus, prior to the arrival of the Blue Jackets... great seats, good promotional crew coming up with ideas like at Halloween, with Mad Cow disease just breaking on the news, and Columbus being a "cow town", the team came out in black-and-white Holstein markinged jerseys. Now, $30 gets you a seat near the back wall in the upper deck, and it's as much about the little girls dancing on the ice as it is.. oh, wait. It's all about the girls dancing on the ice, be it the ones who wear the cute little dance costumes or the Jackets and their inability to do more than help other teams put W's in their columns...

we lost our boardwalk bullies a year ago too. Apparently they couldn't give tickets away.

We have 1 year basically to get attendance turned around. Trust me, I've been pushing friends and co-workers to come out this coming season

The official schedule hasn't been released yet, but looks like Oct. 21 at home against Charlotte. If that date holds true, we're coming back from vacation a day early so we can make it.
