Atlanta Show question that bothers me (I won't finish..)

Post by which particular harbor? »

This is the first year in many that I have NOT been able to attend a concert...thanks to scalpers....anyway, my question is for those who attended. In the past, I've noticed ebay prices the day of the show drop to face value, not this time. I assume because he didn't make it last year. Did any of you tailgaters notice scalpers selling out at the concert? If so, were they asking a premium, or just trying to get rid of them at face?
Just curious...

Thanks!

i was parked right in front of the main entrance and had the good fortune of anyone who might be trying to unload extra tickets walking right past me...i was able to get two lawn seats for face value, one of my friends got two $127 tix for a total of $110, and another friend got a ticket for $5! maybe it was because of the southern squall that attacked us about the time the concert started, but there were plenty of tickets to be found for below face
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.

Yeah I heard some of the scalpers were selling for half the price or below about an hour before the show.

That's the way it is in Atlanta every year. I literally tried to give away four lawn seats last time and couldn't find any one to take them.

That's when I gave up buying tickets when they go on sale.

A phriend of mine bought lawn tickets from people at the show for $50 each. That was by far the cheapest I saw in the main lot.

I bought 8th row tix from a scalper 15 minutes before the show...at FACE...$126! :D The people sitting next to me evidentially sold them to him when their party didnt show. The scalper made $12 on the transaction! :D

I've never failed to get tickets for an Atlanta show, then again I live one State away and that can make a difference on the phones or at an outlet.

I never have dealt with scalpers. .........hmmm if they are seling REAL tickets for less than face value ......I might deal with them from now on.......why waste money on TICKETBASTARDS when a scalper is letting them go for less value?

Something to consider.......

Meanwhile back at the ranch........

Because there's no guarantee you can find authentic tickets when you get to the venue the day of the concert. It's just a chance one takes when one goes to the venue the day of the concert without tickets in hand. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

I agree queen, I like knowing I can get into the show.
Terri and Wayne can down from Ohio to see us/tailgate and HOPE for tixs. They found 1 lawn for face. But the only other one they found was a $36 lawn for $65 :o . Sadly, for us atleast, They decided to head back home. Glad to see them come, but hated to see them go ticketless

NY doesn't get as many Buffett concerts as other parts of the country so I travel to most of the concerts I go to. I'm not getting on a plane unless I already have a ticket in my hand.

I paid face...not less. AND I made sure the tickets were real by enlisting the help of a certain Goat to hold on to my cash and not give it to the scalper until I was inside the gate. 8)

I was not saying or taking that you got them for that.....Someone else posted elsewhere that the scalpers were selling them for less. Last year a good friend mind realized he had left something in his truck and went out to get it and they would not let him back in..... he scored with a scalper that gave him a bettter seat than he originally had for $20.00.

I am all to well aware of scalpers selling garbage tickets. I don't deal with them though, at least not about face value of the ticket.

I find that people dealing with them generally get what they deserve. However sometimes they do get licky as you did. I am not sure what year it occured, but it was in Atlanta, cops watched a person buy tickets from a scalper they knew was selling fake tickets. When the person found out it was fake, went to the cops and complained to them about THEM about letting him/her fake tickets. I thought it was HIL-BLEEPING -LARIOUS!!!

Glad you did so well and enjoyed the show, as always be carefull with dealing wih such persons.

Way to go ToplessRideFL. The show must have been a blast from the 8th row!!
It was great to meet everyone (almost) at the Dawg Pound. Hopefully we'll have a chance or 2 to do the same here in SUNNY Florida later this year.
