JD and the Good Cause
The devastation at the Garden is one thing, Katrina-ravaged New Orleans another. When Knicks owner James Dolan played the New Orleans Jazzfest last month with his blues band, J.D. and the Straight Shot, he was moved by an in-depth three-hour tour of the ravaged Ninth Ward.
Dolan's love of New Orleans prompted him to stage the "Big Apple to Big Easy" concerts at the Garden and Radio City last summer for Katrina victims. After the shows, he jammed with Jimmy Buffett and the Neville Brothers. The DVD - proceeds go to the hurricane victims - will be out in August. Check out the band's website, www.JDandthestraightshot.com or catch them at the House of Blues in Atlantic City June 28 and B.B. King's in midtown July 9.
