I think the point is, just be prepared. Don't bring bottles (of anything) to the gate unless you are ready to throw them away (not a spur of the moment decision by Buffett, it's been going on for years). Do bring cash & a Visa so you don't have to use their ATM. I since learned this year - don't bring glow sticks - they can be dangerous  . As far as cameras - bring at your own risk. They worse that can happen is they tell you to leave them in your car. I personally don't care for beach balls - as the idoits behind me were yelling at me during "Bank of Bad Habits" to throw the ball (how did those people get in?). Just live, learn and enjoy and if all else fails - listen to RM! :D

And...The thing that the poster overlooked was how AWESOME the Charlotte setlist was...

Nautical Wheeler...Weather is Here...School Boy Heart...Knees of My Heart...

What a great show! I'm hoping he plays those in Cincy, esp Weather is Here as I've never heard it live....

We went to the very soggy concert in Charlotte. Not a bad show at all. But several things really ticked me off. First off, the sign said NO CAMERAS

THATS WHAT CAMERA PHONES ARE FOR-I took great pics with mine at the concert in Irvine :D

And not the little ones that could be smuggled in like a pack of smokes. BIG ONES! The second thing was the water. Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre (VWA from here out) said that you are allowed one sealed bottle of water per person. When we arrived at the gate, we were told to drink it or throw it away. The guy at the gate said in a very smart ass voice..."buffets rules, not ours". What is up with that. Why did Buffett not allow us to bring in water. Why should we pay $3.50 for a cup of water in VWA. Prices were extremely overpriced. We went to Buffett last year in the Colliseum and tickets were $45.00 with an $8.50 ticketmaster charge. This year they were $129.00 with a $14.50 ticketmaster charge. Beer WAS $3.00 at the colliseum, at VWA they were $5.00 to $7.50. This is financial piracy! :pirate:

Don't believe I will ever see a Buffett show again or go to VWA again. Not at these prices.

By the way, my wife has been a hard-core parrothead for years and has seen him 7 times. Five times with her sister, and brother-in-law. (Her ex-husband was a p**** and wouldn't take her.) Twice with me. She has just about every buffett record. Lots of buffett stuff. I am just a parrothead in training. She said that if he was going to treat his fans like that, she was done with his concert and music. She was really ticked off about the whole thing.

Also the local news channed said the show was supposed to run until 11:30, but it ended at 10:30. Any comments about that one.

Not to mention yet again the great tickets I snagged..... but..after sitting in the 8th row I am thankful no water bottles were allowed in if people would have been throwing them.

The damn beach balls were bad enough. I always thought they were a distraction DURING a show.... but sittling close sheds a whole new meaning to it. It was awful... people were intentionaly trying to hit the stage..... A few times they hit equipment, Mac's face, Michael's keyboards..... it was very distracting. BG and I got hit so many times that we started holding them under the seats.... just to get them out of the way! But then people around us started screaming at us for it.....

Not just distracting, once the show starts I think it's disrespectful to the performer. Any performer, not just Buffett. Like the goobers who stand with their backs to the stage at the Today Show concerts so their friends back in Buttwipe, Arkansas can see them on TV.

I read the whole thread and all I can come up with is... I'm so glad the original poster won't be anywhere near me at GW. To be so p*** off about a bottle of water tells me that he doesn't get what the show is about.

He probably is the guy that brings cellophane wrapped hard candy to a play.

Just sayin.....

I agree. In Dallas a guy in the third or fourth row kept trying to nail Jimmy with beach balls. He just missed a couple of times and got a dirty look from Jimmy, then had the disrespect and STUPIDITY to try again. That earned him a little discussion with an irritated Charleston.... Astonishingly, he tried AGAIN to send a line drive Jimmy's way. No one saw him that time, or I have no doubt he'd have listened to the rest of the show on Sirius, in his car..... The whole thing *really* p*** me off....

As many have said, the bottle rule is Jimmy's, and I don't blame him one bit..... One drunken idiot launching a water bottle missile could really injure someone, not to mention bringing the show to an abrupt end....

When I got to an event like this, I expect there to be high prices and some rules I may not agree with.
Ya just gotta bend over and take it!!!

Now that is the best arguement I have heard yet. Well said CSM

BTW, the 'more tickets for me' is getting as old as the whining about of tix prices.

Well that is nicer than Dallas. They had the one bottle rule as well, but it was just taken out of our hands and thrown away; no explanation given.

Could the dude walk? Cuz if he had the cojones to ignore Charleston at work, they had to be huge!

I went to an Oasis concert years ago (I'm not even sure I was old enough to drive myself) that ended after 3 songs when some idiot hit the lead singer with a pair of sunglasses- I could only imagine the fallout if it had been something hefty like a water bottle (or a beer!).

I saw Tom Petty one time and some jerk threw a firecracker onto the stage... Tom said " Hey you #@$%off I have more friends in the crowd than you do... :D :D

I dont understand how you can get so bent out of shape about 1. Not being allowed to have water bottles. 2. Water bottle prices... You have 8 freakin hours before the show to drink as much water as you can at a price you choose.(I opt for beer and min water), and the last thing on my mind past 8PM is a cool bottle of Dasani. Am i crazy? Id even almost rather p**s myself than have to stand in a line during the show.

They had a guy in line passing out styrofoam cups to pour your water into. Maybe they didn't realize how many folks would bring in water and they ran outta cups.
