jamaica mistaica wrote:i didnt want to start a new thread for this but i figured you guys would enjoy this. the lady in front of me asked her friend "who's the oriental guy playing the violin" I just thought that was reallly funny considering jake is hawaiian and its a ukulele

Did anyone else notice that during the new songs like Floridays and Party at the end of the world, a significant amount of people sat down? Even though i didnt know all the words to either song, i didnt feel the need to sit

I noticed back where I was at a few people sat down on songs they didnt know as well......the sad part is the only song I didn't know the lyrics to was Party at the end of the world, and I caught on after a while and started singing that too
P.S. How did everyone like the "Here We Are" video? I started to get "Chicken Skin" after a while and almost got teary eyed while listening and watching...

Was it just the group I was with, or did others think the sound at Star Lake sucked on Tuesday night? We were on the lawn, have been for about 10 different shows, the sound has never been this bad before.
When Jimmy spoke, you couldn't understand a word he said.

i think in any pavilion seating the sound was fine. but i did hear that in the lawn it was bad. i guess that is what happens when you dont pay for the expensive seats, which is a shame

I am already going through withdraw. so I'll ask the question again...NOW WHAT?
The Pittsburgh show was great. I am back a t work thinking "Wow, it's over already! Summer is not even here yet and the show is over. What am I going to do the rest of the summer? I'll have my Buffet pool party in August, but what do I do till then?"
Any suggestions?

same feeling here, it doesnt even feel like summer to me yet and jimmy's already here and gone, now what to do with myself? the only thing left this summer is my trip to Margaritaville and CIP while in myrtle beach, but it doesnt compare to the real concerts

Pholks there's at least 4 more concerts within a 8 hr drive from Pittsburgh, choose 1 or 2 and make it happen

The sound was terrible in the lawn this year. This was the first time that i have been to his show or any other that the sound was distorted. Couldn't hear him speak at all----
Still a Great time was had by all

I still feel your pain as well, its sad the concert is over...but if your still looking for something to do this summer that involves "Buffett" check out Key West phest in Erie PA(which is not far from Pittsburgh at all ...about 2 hr. drive) July 21 and 22....Although Jimmy won't be there performing...the Peter Mayer Group, CLUB TRINI (which consists of just about everyone in the coral reefer band) and a few other Buffett cover bands will be performing throughout the two day fest. I know I'm planning on going along with a few other BN'ers....check out the website and the "Coral Reefers" forum on the buffettnews board

I was at the show and I have to say the sound was bad in the lawn. I've seen him all over many times and I just didn't think it was as good as it used to be. Was it just me?

Thanks. I've gotten a lot of comments or compliments over the years, depending on how you look at it.

Squeeze my lime? This made me bust out laughing! Good saying for a t-shirt! I have got to borrow this line...I love it. It even sounds good if you are angry at someone & say this.

I did say this in another thread..I was bummed out not to be able to finally meet some BNers in parking lot due to using the bus Ticketmaster offers....the driver took 3 hrs to get us to concert...just about 15 minutes before concert. Got off bus...ran to find seats & poof it was time for the first song!!! Next year...staying at hotel.

JB was awesome. I do agree about the sound on the lawn though, especially when he was talking. They may be the cheap seats, but at Starlake that should only matter when it rains. Second half seemed a little better. Maybe my head was clearing??? My disappoinment was getting in late at the main gate and JB was on stage and also late getting back from intermissoin, but when you gotta go....you gotta go.
Is it next summer yet??
P.S.--Werewolves of London was howling!!
