How do you define a "true" parrothead? I was most certainly a parrothead back when I only owned SYKBH and BBBB. Back then, my answer to "what's your favorite" would have been CILCIA. Today, it varies from day to day and mood to mood.
Today it's SBH. Other days it's Barometer Soup or Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season or Tin Cup Chalice or APLAF or SOASOAS or CILCIA or FSOTW or TIJNMG or... well... you get the picture....
M'Ville and CiP are fun concert songs, but will never make my short list of favorites, because Jimmy and the other songwriters have done a *fantastic* job of writing so many songs that are (IMHO) far superior...
or... well... you get the picture....
Well...it sounds
PITCHER PERFECT to me!

When we received the DVD for BuffettFest last year it included the video of Schoolboy Heart. Immediately became my favorite. Reminded me a lot of myself - especially the Frankenstein part.

Sure some of the song titles I can sort out, others my brain farts on. The letters thing doesn't work well with my head.
I sorry! Was trying to type fast and stay under the radar....
SBH = School Boy Heart

(and yes, my fingers wanted to type SchoolGirlHeart

)
APLAF = A Pirate Looks At Forty
SOASOAS = Son of a Son of a Sailor
CILCIA = Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes
FSOTW = Far Side of the World
TIJNMG = Tonight I Just Need My Guitar

Death of an unpopular poet is great. I like the more obscure. WGCOCS is another good one.

have to agree with you on that one flip flop. there are soo many great songs that he does. it depends on your mood of the day. the desperation samba, pencil thin mustache, PBC, and many more. so it would be hard to choose just one.
fav songs

As said before, dif mood.....dif song.
I do however like Creola,Growing Older But Not Up,Come Monday and the ever popular Margaritaville. I can't forget It's 5 o'clock somewhere with Alan Jackson as a great summer time beer guzzlin song.

My Favorite Buffett song is OPH , I loved it the first time I heard it. Truth to tell if I only had listened to SYKBH , I'd probably not be as big a Buffett fan as I am.
Now here's a tougher one.... what's your SECOND favorite Buffett song? (I love Desperation Samba, both the version on MMIM and BBBB).

I too agree that it depends on the mood...
I always get a kick out of Volcano (I love the different versions...)
Fins is always a fav, as is We are the People
Take another Road is another great song...
They all take me to different places and times in my life...

Tryin' To Reason with Hurricane Season
...because it has described SO many moments when I've enjoyed Jimmy's music
while staring out over the Sea of Cortez

Ohhhh.. Im sorry, I really didn't mean to offend anyone by my "true parrothead comment" . Really I am the most unconfrontational person.
All I meant by that comment is. I hate to see a bunch of drunk young people, who go to a concert, who have only heard 1-2 buffett songs, who go there to get drunk and dont give a rats butt about Jimmy, the music, or the art of it all. When on ticket release day, hundreds of phans get shut out of purchasing tickets.
Please forgive me... from the knees of my heart!

Can we really name a favorite? He simply has too many good songs and it really depends on my mood. With that said, I'd list a top 5 as:
1. Barometer Soup
2. CILCIA
3. Migration
4. Everybody's Got a Cousin in Miami
5. Manana

I'll have to go with top 5.. In no particular order.
1. Stars on the Water
2. Coast of Marseilles
3. If It All Falls Down
4. That's What Living Is To Me
5. Floridays
