The video at the end of the Atlanta show...
has Buffett been playing that the whole tour? Did he play it in the Spring? After watching it, and reading what people were saying on Spring tour, I really get the feeling that this may be it for Buffett. Not that he'll never play again, but he may end his big tours. I just kind of had a bad vibe....kinda like the Dead in '95....even though nobody knew Jerry was going to pass away, but everything just had a weird feeling to it...

TJ..
I totally agree with you regarding the video at the end of the Atlanta concert. I got this weird feeling....saying..."Is this it"? People around me looked as if they were having the similar thoughts.
However, somemone told me later that is the video that they have been playing at intermission, and due to the rain at the Atlanta concert (lots of lawn people) he decided not to have an intermission...thus the video was played at the end.
Not sure that made me feel a lot better...but not having it at the end..and instead Jimmy walking back out on stage for the second half..may have helped to dispell some of those dreaded thoughts!
I do think that when the time does come...he will "quietly" announce it at the end of a tour.

Big Money ...
I highly doubt JB is ready to "pack it in" when he easily sells out a show or two in each city at $129 a pop for tickets. Kind of hard to turn that kind of kwan down when it's there for the taking ....

Do you really think he needs the money at this point? Movies, books, music sales.... He's probably set.5Oclock Somewhere wrote:I highly doubt JB is ready to "pack it in" when he easily sells out a show or two in each city at $129 a pop for tickets. Let's put it this way, in my many years on this earth, I have met some very very wealthy people ..... some that I call friends. These individuals are wealthy beyond most peoples comprehension type of wealthy.
One thing you'll rarely hear a wealthy person say is, "I don't need anymore .... I have enough."
buffet bad vibe..?
Glad to see another deadhead on this board, thought i might be the only one......anyhow I can't put my finger on it except to say that the show " I saw/ heard" at Alpine gave me very much the same erie feeling i had walking out of soldiar field 7-9-95....not good....not that Jimmy was in bad shape like Jerry was, but just that somthing wasn't right, I was also not the only one in our group that felt this way. I have been seeing Jimmy since '90 and have a few shows under my belt, but have never walked away thinking anything negative or had this kind of vibe...worries me, i agree though that he will never stop playing, probably just stop touring and open a venue where you can pay big $$ to go see him........wondering if me/my group is the only one's that had this weird feeling at Alpine??? anyone relate?

Tenn Jed& Chad, another deadhead here. I was at the so called "riot" at Deer Creek
I understand about the eerie feeling...I felt it that night before the walls came tumbling down at DC. I too, was at Alpine this past weekend and had the same feeling all over again. There were several people that I talked to that had the same feeling. So you are not alone.

Funny how different shows make you feel. I was at atlanta and Charlotte shows and after the Charlotte show, I said he will be back. I had a GREAT feeling about the whole show and the energy. I am wondering if JB was tired at alpine. He put on a kicka$$ show at charlotte, then hit pitt, cincy and then alpine. That's alot of shows and traveling after being off for a month. And I am serious, JB kicked a$$ in Charlotte, I am sure he was feeling it later in the week. Here's hoping to more shows next year, I don't think he is done just yet!!!

But, I can say after seeing him at several different venues over the years....He LOVES Alpine. Kind of reminds me of the times he played Buckeye Lake...he loved that place too. Saturday,he was very energetic and he was happy he was there...it was written all over his face. Ofcourse...IMHO
It seems to me at the other venues I've seen him, it just seems like he is going through the motions.

I Don't think JB is ready to hang it up. I think the video has to do with the fact he's been touring for about 30yeas and the video is a way to say "wow!" I was at the ATL show to and I had a feeling of pride when they did the video for the fact I'm damn proud to be a Parrothead!!!
