Even in my prime, I was never that bad. The worst of it was when we were waiting for the rain to stop and some guy walking through opens the cooler we were standing around and gets a beer out. He started walking away with it. When I finally realized what he just did, I ran him down and told him "You could've just asked." He tossed it back to me unopened. I was amazed by this.

Even with that, I simply chose to ignore them. I met many people and really enjoyed them. The good fun people outnumbered the obnoxious drunks by a large margin. Unless they are part of my crowd, I refuse to have a bad time by worrying about the people who are passed out drunk.

At best they are darned amusing to watch

At Cincy, after the concert, we are back in the lot cleaning up the tailgate. Two couples walk by Parrot1's cooler and decide to open it and dig through it to see if there was anything they wanted!!! :o Laughing the whole time. I can't believe how rude some people are!
I said I was sorry! :-?

i do have to agree, it is getting worse. I think the true phans are great....but you can tell the ones that go for the "parking lot" only.....Its a shame to see a few people spoil it for others.....

The bad manners I experienced in Cincinnati on Thursday included a
300 lb a$$munch who decided he needed to dance on his chair even though he was in the 15th row and he blocked the view of the stage for basically everyone 5 rows behind him.

Also, people going into the show thought it was funny to place their beer bottles all around cars near the entrances to the venue. That was just stupid and mean, I thought.

As I was waiting in the race track waiting to drive out, traffic started to move forward and some 18 year old kid was in the line of cars that were creeping along. It was my turm to pull in and I looked over and pointed to ask if I could pull into the line of traffic. He sneered at me and shook his head to say "no." What happened to taking turns I wondered. I inched forward and had to force my way into traffic in front of the dill weed. Sheesh, I thought, this sure is different than the attitude people had at the 1st show I saw 10 years ago...

i've only been to six shows and 4 of those were in Detroit. I do think that the 5 O'Clock somewhere crowd is mainly focused on getting hammered than the laid back, happy lifestyle that I think Jimmy's music advocates.

Oh well...Guess the line "Changes in lattitudes, changes in attitudes" means different things for different pholks.

I haven't been to a JB concert since 1993. Too many people going just to get drunk. A lot of these people own SYKBH and thats it. They put on a grass skirt and a coconut bra and call them selves JB fans. Theres a group in our neighborhood that gets together once a year to see JB, whenever I see them I'll ask if they heard JB's latest album. "He has a new album out?" is always the response. I'd say 50% of the people at those concerts go to let loose once a year.

I have been to over 50 shows and
was at Alpine on Saturday, while still a fun time, I saw way too many people barfing and passed out, p*** on the lawn, etc.
One girl next to us was blowing chow in empty beer glasses.
Her friend was shuttling the glass to the trash can when she was blasted with a beach ball, needless to say the puke went flying all over people, it was a sad sight.
It is the last time I will go to a show with lawn seat tickets.
The added $$ puts you in the seats with true PH's and away from the Frat Rats from Chicago who think they are at a Cubs game.
Boy! I tell ya...I have been pretty lucky I guess never having to witness anyone throwing up. That would totally end it for me as far as enjoying the show. I am one of those who simply cannot handle seeing someone barf. It starts a nasty chain reaction! As far as paying more for tics and being surrounded by better acting PHolks, that has been my experience even though I saw posts on here that disagree with that theory. I haven't been going to shows for long for many reasons, but my first 3 while still being in pavillion were pretty far back, and things got pretty nasty, so for the last 3, I coughed up some extra $$ (quite a lot of them!) to be in 1st, 8th and 2nd rows, and have been quite pleased to be surrounded by people who were actually there to see the show and not JUST to get s***faced. I'm second row Indy again this year, so hope my luck holds. :o :o
Wrinkles only go where smiles have been.
What infinite wisdom...Thank you Jimmy!!!

At last show I saw (Tiki Time/Dallas) the tailgating was great and phriendly, but some people never even MADE IT TO THE SHOW!
I was on the lawn and had a great time. It wouldn't stop me from going again, but I'll be watching out for newbies.

This thread really surprises me. In Charlotte we didn’t witness any of this behavior. Maybe we were in our own little world with the couple of people we were hanging out with or met at the tailgating. Don’t get me wrong there were some drunken parrotheads about, but nothing rude or outrageous. I do tend to think that younger people will tend to do be more uncontrollable because of the maturity factor. Kids these days, what do you do??

well people just need to "chill out" a bit, moderation is the key!

Once some people get seriously hurt or killed, and the venues sued, then there won't be anymore tailgating.

I just hope that some out of control people are reading this.

No one that starts drinking heavily at 10 in the morning is not going to be in that great of shape at show time.

Like Jimmy says"pace yourselves"!

Don't get me wrong, i like a good "buzz" better than the next guy.

This is my 5th time to see JB and unfortunately my last. I thought I would treat my mom and sister to the wonderful way of the the PH and let them see how great an experience it is. Every concert thus far was a great experience but somehow, someway between 2 years ago and this year someone spread the word to some dumbasses who don't get. The frat boys next to us were p***ng all over the place, shoving people. Fortunately for them, my mother was not hurt when they shoved her and she went FLYING about 3 feet from where she was standing. The frat who knocked her down apologized and the one who shoved him grabbed the guy apologizing and pulled him away. Had it not been for my fiance, i would have been one of the unrulies who kicked his a** myself, they dropped their pants completely about 3 times and p***** all over themselves and everyone around them. Sorry JB but this was it for me. I had to repeatedly apologize to them saying this was not the way previous concerts were.

I thought the show was great! Being my first Buffett show I can't compare it to others. Although my wife has been to a few shows and she thought it was good too. I have never met so many nice people! It's to bad the inexperienced drinkers caused so many problems for so many. When you say the crowds have changed through the years what do you mean? I only say that because there has always been inexperienced drinkers puking, urinating, and being obnoxious at concerts. Is this new to Jimmy Buffett concerts? The one thing that amazed me was how many people I talked to that were not even attending the show!

Having been part of the great "Ticketmaster Null Ticket Scandal" and having all our seats converted to lawn tickets, AND the fact the lovely wife is about halfway through the pregnancy, we decided to NOT sit on the lawn this year. I've been to Cinci before, and Cinci is a little different than in Indy or other places. I've seen the "Frat Punks" elsewhere, but never like in Cinci.

Regardless, we still came down for the BegAnniversary, had a wonderful time, and met some great people. Afterwards, we put the boat in the river, pulled up right behind the stage, and actually really enjoyed ourselves. We had nearly the quality of music as the lawn has (maybe a little more muffled) but none of the problems, and we had a nice large boat to streach out on.

The best part of it was the moonlight boat ride back down to Cinci after the concert to where we put in.

I'd have put up with the Lawn, had the lovely wife not been preggers, but, having seen how the lawn in Cinci has become the last couple of years, no way...

Sorry folks but complaining about em won't change em. Best thing to do if you don't like it is to stay in the Riverbend/River Downs/Coney parking area where the bike cops keep everything tamer.

I know there were crude and rude people there, but those kind of folks are everywhere even at baseball games.

Please don't let them cause you to miss your gig, ever. :D

We haven't been to a concert in a few years ( Sometimes life gets in the way) and before that we used to do many concerts each year ( I think we are up to 70+). !

In general, Buffett Concerts are a good time to get Blasted! You see it here on BN's. There was a thread call: Who's going to GET DRUNK IN CINCI"? :o

My wife will maybe have a Margarita or two, I am usually the driver, so I don't drink! We also, pay more money and sit in the pit most times. Usually, if people are spending upwards of $300.00 a ticket, they want to remember seeing the concert!

If you are there for the Man and the Music, I have never known why it is necessary to get blown away DRUNK! But Buffett has a reputation of not just being a concert, but the "Tailgate" too!

We bring a Tailgate.....usually something great to eat. My sister is a gourmet cook, so I ask her to Make a Buffett Buffet! It's usually wonderful and for beverages, Iced Tea and Water and soft drinks! Surprise, you can see Jimmy sober!

Unfortunatly, there are large amounts of fans who feel it is NOT a Buffett concert , unless you get falling down drunk, and maybe puke all over the person in front of you!

You see it here, "HOW MANY JELLO SHOTS ARE YOU MAKING?" It isn't just about the Tailgate. It's about Music and Phriendship and having a Goodtime. Some people show up for the Tailgate and don't EVEN go to the show!

Tiki, I agree that there are a lot of de-FIN-itions of what a true Parrot Head is, Mine is a Phan who is there to see the Man and listen to the Music and NOT get Falling Down DRUNK! IMHO!
BUFFETTING: The act of leaving reality and going off to see Jimmy Buffett!

Mr. Webster, we have a NEW definition!

I wonder if taking your kids to see people puking, peeing and women with their tops off is Jimmy's version of family entertainment.
