I for one, am a social drinker... and I do a lot of socializing at Buffett shows!

It just dawned on me I was only given 1 jello shot on Saturday... it's normally quite a few more.

And at one point, someone said "Tiki Bar, there's a beer bong right over there"... and I was all over going to do one, but then I think I saw Cubbie Bear and forgot. I've done 2 beer bongs in my life...

I liken myself to the female version of Frank the Tank!  Not all the time, but it happens now and again! :wench:

A few years back, at Starlake, some moron decided it would be a good idea to dump their hot charcoals on the top of the roof of my convertible! :x But we still are devoted to the music, glad to still be able to attend the concerts, and thoroughly enjoy every bit of the music! :)

You see it here, "HOW MANY JELLO SHOTS ARE YOU MAKING?"

I was fortunate enough to be able to tailgate with most of the people that responded in the DRUNK IN CINCI thread. None of them were fall down or obnoxious drunk. Some were even sober! We also had plenty of food! And, most of all, we had a good time, met old friends and made a few new ones. Unless you joined our tailgate, keep your stones to use on someone else.

Now, for the jello shot comment.....So, if you have a jello shot, you become a drunk? I don't get it!
SOS, no stones were thrown at anyone, the example I used was used to show that the attitude is more about drinking and less about the Artist and the Music. Hopefully , I thought people would understand that, I guess you didn't.

As for the Jello shots, I assume they have alcohol in them and I assume they are a way of drinking, so what is your POINT! ? :-? :-? It isn't enough that you have a drink , you have to have Jello shots , too! No I Guess you don't GET IT!
See, you are casting judgments. I drank water the whole day. However, if a jello shot had been available around me, I would have had one or two. That does not make me a drunk. If I had a drink or two and a jello shot, that still wouldn’t make me a drunk. There are people who can drink responsibly. Are you sure you want BHC to join you in the pavilion- she may have just had a jello shot and a drink!! :o ASSuming things isn’t always good. (I bet you have ASSumed I am young and stupid, too.)

No, I do get it. For some reason, you are bitter against alcohol, or not being able to drink it. That is no reason to cast your judgments on those who choose to consume. Not everyone who drinks in the parking lot is going to fall, puke or be a donkey.

If you have been a fan as long as you say, then you should know that it is not just the music we love, but the dream of the Caribbean carefree lifestyle JB represents. For some, the day of the concert is their only chance to escape from the “real” world and enjoy that lifestyle. Some just aren’t as responsible as others, but don’t group all of us drinkers into that category!
SOS , the You used in that statement was just that ....a statement! It was not a reference to you! I don't know you and as I said I cast NO stones, but I was offering an opinion. YOU MISSED that and ASSumed wrong. I do know something , you sure are defending drinking way too much, I think you protest too much!

My wife and I HAVE been Phans that long. My "lifestyle" just doesn't HAVE to include excessive drinking! :o  IMHO
BUFFETTING: The act of leaving reality and going off to see Jimmy Buffett!

Let it go already, there is no reason to breakdown each others statements regarding drinking.

Once some people get seriously hurt or killed, and the venues sued, then there won't be anymore tailgating.

I just hope that some out of control people are reading this.

No one that starts drinking heavily at 10 in the morning is not going to be in that great of shape at show time.

Like Jimmy says"pace yourselves"!

Don't get me wrong, i like a good "buzz" better than the next guy.

My only request would be that they be nice, saw a few boobs in public prior to the Atlanta show that could have, in my opinion, been left covered.

As for behavior at shows, I doubt it is just at Jimmy shows. I think the bad/rude behavior is occuring more everywhere. Not sure what it is, except to borrow from someone on another post and say that some of the younger members of the 21 and over crowd haven't been taught respect of others or have forgotten those lessons and will only learn/relearn them as they get a bit older. I don't know, but for a lot of people these days any big even - sports, concert, etc. - is just an excuse to get hammered and act a fool. I work too hard for the money I make to spend it on a concert ticket and then be so hammered that I don't remember the show when it is over.
