of course many know this but I listen to a lot of old school rap such as Melle Mel, RunDMC, UTFO, Fat Boys, and the like. I am even a member (Mike Cheque) and frequent poster on an old school rap message board
other than that, I like Cat Stevens, Hank Jr, and Shaggy a lot.
Disco and Funk are also good, especially when I DJ parties.

CCR was my first concert.

I saw Jackson Browne at Jones Beach a few years ago. I never thought he had much of a sense of humor but someone yelled out "Freebird" and he did the first verse.

I pass the Fox News Channel studio where they do their version of the Today Show, Fox & Friends, on my walk to the office every morning. One day I saw this really short bald guy with glasses, looked like an accountant, outside the studio playing a guitar and singing. It was Peter Frampton.

I've probably told this story before, but I'll tell it again. When the Monkees were popular I think I was about 12 or 13 years old. They did a concert here in NY at the Forest Hills tennis stadium. My brother and some of his friends went but my parents wouldn't let me go because they thought I was too young. The opening act for the Monkees was some guy named Jimi Hendrix.

When I saw him, Shelby Lynne was the opening act. She wasn't bad either.
