I know I would like to see Dale Jr. win it, but I really don't think it is gonna happen. Unfortunately, he has had some tough breaks.....
Whatever happened with the woman that was driving in NASCAR? I forgot her name, but she seems so have vanished......

It would be great to see Jr win, but the team just isn't there yet. After 2004 coming so close and then the off year last year with the crew shuffle they may never be back there where they should be to win it all.
I think by the time they hit Atlanta in October it will be down to 3 drives. Stewart, Johnson and one of the Roush drivers, probably Kenseth.
As for the female driver, which one are you talking about?
Tina Gordon was driving Busch and Trucks up until this last year or so. The one (name slipped my mind) that drove the 49 before Schrader took over ran a few Busch races but seems to have disappeared. I'm afraid it is going to take a really big name like Danica Patrick to have a full time women on the circuit who won't lose a ride after just a few races of not performing.

Thanks for the info.
I can't remember her name, she ran "Winston Cup" ( I think! I could be mistaken about that) driving a Dodge. I know it was not Busch series she was running at the time.
She ran in Daytona I am sure. Did not have a good finish that I recall. Can't remember noow, it has been a couple or 3 years or so, maybe a bit longer. A LOT has happened since then.
I know Dale Jr. isn't there yet. However like I said, I doubt it would happen, but I would like to see it happen for him.
Something sort of interesting...the other day was in checking in on a vehicle being worked on and was looking around while they were looking for paperwork, and under an old dusty counter, there was a collection of NASCAR cars and Drivers names on them that must go back about 30 years or there abouts. Maybe longer. I did not count how many there were. There were many I did not recognize right off. But each one was still in the box it had originally been sold in. Some of the boxes were sun faded and a dusty.
One particular car caught my eye...It was a Dale Sr, Ford. I think the number was 30. I am almost positive it was not his usual # 3. I have to go back there this week ....will check and find out for sure. Maybe someone will know the car and the year and number. If not , no biggie, I can find out.

YES!! That was her. What ever happened with/to her? She just sort of disappeared.CoronaShark wrote:You may be thinking about Shauna Robinson, Sam. She drove the #49 before Kenny Schraeder took over.
As for a hopeful 2006 winner, I am rooting for Harvick, but being realistic my money is on Stewart.

From Wikipedia - Shawna Robinson is a female NASCAR driver. She currently does not have a ride. In 2005, Robinson drove in the Busch Series after being out of NASCAR for two years. She piloted the #23 Vassarette Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Keith Coleman Racing, but was released after six races. Her husband, Jeff Clarke, serves as gasman for Dale Earnhardt Jr.. When she is not racing, she works in interior design.
There is shawnarobinson.com, but there isn't anything there, just a placeholder.
Dale Sr. drove a Ford for Bud Moore in '82 and '83, but it was the number 15. Sale's old team, owned by Ron Osterlund, had been sold in '81 and dale went to drive for Childress 2nd half of '81. Richard didn't have the greatest team at that time and so he moved Dale to Bud Moore since that was a team with a better chance of winning. Childress hired Ricky Rudd to drive for him until Dale came back in '84, and the rest is history.
According to NASCAR.com's car number history - http://www.nascar.com/kyn/nbtn/cup/data/car/index.html - Dale drove the number 30 in 1976, but it was an orange Chevy called the "Army Special".

I'd bet on Mr. Consistency... Wisconsin's very own Matt Kenseth!
