If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane. And how is this different from all of the young girls who have drolled over Frank Sinatra, Elvis and The Beatles or any other performer?

I met Jimmy once for a few seconds (another thread). I'm 5'6", and he's taller than I am by about 2"....

I meant more the folks with the avatars and sig pictures of half naked Chesney :)

I like his music a lot.....I'd rather not see him without a shirt on !

Although I find the article amusing, regardless of what anyone says, I don't like Chesney and I don't listen to him and I don't care if he plays football stadiums or is or isn't imitating Buffett - I think the media (what is drive-by media anyway? Is it any different than sleeping-outside-your-window media? Or any other media?) purveyed him to be like Jimmy Buffett.

I don't care for Big And Rich or whatever their name is and Toby Keith (from what I've read people in Missoula would have rather gone to see Toby Keith than The Rolling Stones - that's DISGUSTING) and etc...and I'd never go to one of their shows. But I'm sure somebody likes their shows. It's rather obvious - lots of hits, tours. There are a lot of acts I can't stand and don't like. So so what. I don't have to like them.

So that's how the ball rolls down my hill.

that statement about Missoula... where did you find that data? and knowing a smidge, I gotta wonder what the ticket prices/venues were for both.

That was in the Missoulan? Or another website like that. I'm not sure if the links are still there but I found it on iorr.org. It was all dealing with the Stones when they played there the other night. Ticket prices weren't a big deal - it was sold out. The tickets prices aren't any worse than anyone else - especially some of the lamer acts on tour that charge so much for crap, like the Eagles and Barbara Streisand, etc....But for some reason, this makes me laugh so hard, scalpers bought boatloads of tickets and then, of course, were asking way too much money for the tickets so people weren't buying. I guess up to the day of the show they were almost giving them away so they could make some money back. So technically it was sold out but there might not have been some seats filled simply for the matter that some scalpers ruined it for other people.

I was impressed when I heard the Stones were making a tour stop there. Missoula isn't exactly on the beaten path, and the last time a major rock act was going to be there (that I remember hearing about), it got vetoed at the last minute because the student body leadership at UM thought bringing Heart in (who had been there several times for the Aber Days blowouts before going national) for a stop on the Brigade tour would fall apart because it was a Friday right at the end of Finals week.

I'll take a look at the Missoulian online edition. Good to see that the scalpers ate it, gotta love that happening.

Those damn scalpers think they've got it made etc...I like seeing them lose their asses! They only hurt the fans who can't make the show because they ask too much money. That's what's funny about people complaining over the years about ticket prices (for any touring act, not just the Stones) going up and up - scalpers make the face value price seem cheap!
