Parents of boys and girls...
Which is harder to raise? A boy or a girl?
I've always heard boys are tougher when they are little and girls are tougher when they are older.
I'd have to say so far my daughter who is 8 has been easer end-to-end than my 2 1/2 year old son who is into everything, climbs everything, breaks everything, etc. etc.
I'm growing weary with taking toys away, losing priveliges, and time outs!! Please tell me this gets easier before I go make an appointment with Dr. Phil!!

I don't think any of 'em are easy...
I wanted boys cuz I thought they'd be easier, but I see some of our friend's boys and think I could have been mistaken.
The younger years with the girls aren't too bad, but we're already seeing apparent hormonal episodes, and looking ahead to the challenges we face through the teens!

You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

good luck with the step-mom thing. i always hated mine. it's gotta be the toughest job on the planet!fins2theleft wrote:i don't have any of my own just yet...but my two step-daughters are great.....
but i have heard that girls are always great until they are teenagers and thier "friend" comes
and boys (most of the time) kinda chill out as teens
my daughter is hyper-sensitive to everything, and i fully expect paybacks for everything i did as a teenager.
i hope every day that my boy will chill just a bit. my daughter wouldn't leave my side when she was his age. we did everything together. with him, i turn my back for a second, and he's halfway across the subdivision!!!
plus he eats almost as much as a grown-up! i think i need to invest in some cows and chickens to keep from going broke!

It holds true for non-furry kids, too! When I really need him to mellow out, I just let him go at it outside. He does chase tennis balls!!!!spainjane wrote:All of our "kids" have 4 legs and fur...
They behave better when they are worn out.
Try to get the little guy to chase a tennis ball!![]()

Now that I have pulled myself out of my chair laughing so hard because my son is like a Golden Retriever, thanks for the advice!

I don't get TOO upset when a parent swats their kid across the butt with an OPEN HAND. (God knows, some of them NEED it).buffettbride wrote:Sure beats spanking them!Wino you know wrote:They're both pretty easy to raise as long as you have a couple rolls of duct tape.((Garry))
Unfortunately, sometimes I'm required to deal with ASSHOLES who "discipline" their kids by COLD-COCKING them across the face.
that's where MY fun begins

BOYS!!!.without a doubt...
you can have odd or even numbers playing together...no fussing..
Girls?..you want a cat fight put 3 of them to play together.
I did a lot of substituting for the teacher when my son and daughter were young and the girls were always arguing about something...
and it didn't change much as they got older..
and boys won't wear your clothes, or shoes, (maybe tshirts)..
fortunately, mine are adults (?) now...

It's just too fine a line for me, that I'm too afraid to cross, so I just don't go there, and fortunately I'm married to someone who feels the same way.Wino you know wrote:I don't get TOO upset when a parent swats their kid across the butt with an OPEN HAND. Don't get me wrong, I've certainly thought at times that a good, old-fashioned, swat on the ass would keep them in line, but we've always found a way to work around it.
