Goodman Scores JB@JB Tickets

It was not looking good. I was screwed by Ticketmaster which told me about a thousand times that they had no ticket for me yet proclaimed that tickets were available. I was looking forward to standing on line the day of and listening to the box office commandos tell me the show was sold out until say 2PM or so when tickets would magically appear in the system.
Having announced on this board that I wouldn't return to MSG to see JB, the pressure was on to snare some ducats. Well thanks to Mean Gene, Goodman will get to see JB at perhaps his final Jones Beach appearance. Fitting since I been a fan since 1977. Hope JB will push himself for some special tunes I haven't heard yet. No matter, I'll feel privileged to be there with him and my fellow JB fans. I'll be the guy in the Tommy Bahama shirt.

Of late Jimmy doesn't play JB two years in a row. He therefore can't be expected back before summer 2008. I'm thinking he will limit his concert tour substantially by then. I'm happy for his success but I do miss the days when he was not so well known and an easy ticket to come buy, not practically an institution. Back then I saw him at Avery Fisher Hall, Belmont Race Track (after the card) and Radio City Music Hall. In the mid 1970s he played the Beacon Theater, Max's Kansas City and that place in the Village that was recently closed. A long ways from/to MSG.
