Oh, no! Groan!
I just entered mine and I know I sounded awful (and I usually have a halfway decent voice, or so I've been told). I practiced over and over, but then after saying my name and number, I rushed right into the song, and I KNOW I sounded SQUEEEEEEKKKYYY.
Oh, well. Excuses, excuses.
If you hear Minny Mouse singing "Tin Cup Chalice", that's me.

More wagging, less barking.

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win

Bacon, Shrimp and Tomato
By Barry Cuda...
Bacon shrimp and tomato, hoist anchor let's sail away,
We had it tough now we're packing our noses with the best s*** this side of L.A..
I am the manatee savior, motor slow god save the whales,
Changes in underwear now that I'm off welfare, let's go and troll for some bales.
Other other notion, bet I'm more wasted than you,
Someday I'll be alright, can't get it up tonight, Guess I'm just too drunk to screw,
Bartender please, two cheese daiquiris.
Other other notion, think that I'll buy all the Keys,
No records anymore, own all the t-shirt stores, now that I'm past forty,
Waitress please, two stir fried manatees.
Bacon, shrimp and tomato, drop anchor, think that I'll stay,
Own all of paradise, that would be very nice, a theme park called "Jimmy's Buffet",
You'll see the Keys, for twelve dollars please,
The name is Buffet, Y'all have a nice day.

Well, I finally got mine in & actually didn't wait until the last minute (phoned in around 10 this morning right before I left for work). After much research and practice on several songs I went with "Twelve Volt Man" - it seemed to suit my singing voice the best. I also considered Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants, Jolly Mon, Last Mango in Paris, This Hotel Room, Door #3, School Boy Heart, and West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown (on this one I thought it'd be too risky/risque to belt out the f-word though).
I had a little trouble with the answering machine method of recording my version of 12V initially - on the fourth try I recorded successfully & when I played it back it sounded pretty good, unfortunately I hit #3 instead of #2 and erased it.
I then got a message that I only had 5 attempts to record my song so I had to regroup and get it done right away on my next attempt. I was nervous but I think it sounded OK and this time I no longer had the option of listening to my recording, just a "thanks, you're done".
If anyone hears it played let me know how it sounded (feel free to be honest but also feel free to lie & say it sounded great.

For years I've been plugged into blenders and songs.
