Passing of a PH
A great parrothead (in my eyes) has just passed.
My great aunt, finally gave up and let cancer get the best of her.
Bobbie "Sissie" Warnock was 86 years young. Just over a month ago she was diagnosed with cancer in her liver, kidneys, lungs and brain. When I went to visit her in the hospital three weeks ago, I told her I had brought some of her favorite chocolate only because I couldn't fit a margarita in my pants pockets.
Her reply, "You should have carried a purse instead".
I blame her for many of my bad habits and my love of the San Fracisco Giants. She liked music from Eddie Arnold, Buddy Holly and Jimmy Buffett.
I have a long list of things she has done in her life. All are far fetched, unbelieveable, irresponsible and quite humorous, and all are true.
From hitchhiking to California from Oklahoma when she was 18 in order to serve her husband divorce papers while he was on leave from the Navy, to dancing the "Funky Chicken" on a table top during a booze cruise in Hawaii on her seventieth birthday, she lived life like a party.
She will be missed but never forgotten.
Thanks for listening.

Thank you all for your concern and cares.
She was a wonderful lady. A real spitfire.
This is not the first loss to cancer we have faced. Her brother, my grandfather, died the same way. His time dragged on for almost a year, her's was quicker and therefore less painful, but still a blow to us all.
She kept saying she was not in pain and the doctors said that was due to the cancer blocking the "pain sensors" in her head.
She went quietly at home in her bed with her niece and sister-in-law beside her. She had no children of her own, but instead claimed all of her grand nephews and nieces and great-grandnephews and nieces as her own.
One day I'll put her stories on paper and you will all have a chance to read the "life and times" of a wild, fun, crazy woman who shaped three generations of our family.
Thank you again to all of you.
