Looking for some appropriate lyrics for a fallen Parrothead

Post by jboy »

Hi all, long time parrothead, first time visitor.

I come on a sad occassion. My uncle recently passed away. He was a huge parrothead going back to the 70's. He got me into Buffett among a lot of other great music. We held an annual parrothead party at his place every year and played guitars until the sky started to lighten from the sun rise. Most importantly, he was one helluva guy and will be missed.

With his eulogy, I feel there'd be nothing that he'd like more than to quote a Buffett line or two. There are some obvious lines in some songs such as That's What Living Is to Me, Changes, We Are the People, etc. I'm wondering if any had any specific suggestions that might fit the occassion.

Anyway, he was a good family man. Was heavily involved in charity and had an amazing outlook on life.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I guess it depends on just what sentiment you're trying to convey...
The first song I thought of was Lovely Cruise, and then Only Time Will Tell.

The lyrics are in the song database here for nearly everything, so you
might want to glance through those pages for something appropriate.

Condolences at the loss of another good parrothead.

Sorry to hear about your loss but glad to hear that you are celebrating his life in such a positive way. In such times, I've always been partial to the line from He Went to Paris:

Some of it's tragic, some of it's magic, but I had a good life all the way.
