Here we Are (the song)

Post by Congobill »

Pardon me if I'm behind the times here but where is the song "Here we Are" from? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks!

It's new...rumor suggests it might be on the next album.

BTW, you'll probably be able to find it at the next live show....

So cool to be able to link to the lyrics!

Maybe one day we will have the video to link to.

The song is much more poignant and meaningful when accompanied by the video during the shows.

Does anyone besides me get a little emotional when that song is played with the video?

I know for me, Jimmy's music has gotten me through good times and bad times alike, and he's like an old friend. His lyrics and songs are the rhythm of my life; they are part of my songline. That song is so heartfelt and genuine that you can tell just how thankful he is for all the years of support from phans. It really seems like he feels like all of us fruitcakes are an extended family. It's just really touching for me to see him be that appreciative of all us little people that think so highly of him.

Thoughts?

Jimmy really is a sweet man and a true class act, and this song exemplifies those qualities as much as any of his others. For us Parrotheads, I hope this song will be a special song; I hope this will be "our" song. We all have our favorites and there are debates over the SYKBH songs all the time, but I hope this song is one we can all agree has a special meaning.

If "Margaritaville" is the official Parrothead national anthem, then "Here We Are" should be like the Alma Mater. 8)

Yes!
Candy and I were singing along at Alpine, and getting some funny looks from the "got me thishere free ticket to go see that Buffet guy" folks. But, it is an incredibly-powerful song, and after the Dallas show... probably one of my favourites of all of his.

I was singing along at Alpine too, and got looks as well.

It's tough at times with that lump in my throat though...

That would be a good idea, he did that with his Far Side Of The World CD, hopefully he'll do it with his upcoming CD.
