I am not complaining about how someone else chooses to spend his money. Where did I say that?
In just about every one of your posts in this thread.
Why don't you show us some examples?
Well, you asked ...
Sam #1 wrote:I tend to think, of all the needy charities out there, that do need funding. and so many in need of immediate funding......I don't think Bill Gates's charity, would require much extra funding for a very long while.
Sam #2 wrote:I also question, with so many needy charities out there, go ahead and pick one or more.

He could have helped alot of homeless people out, he could have created businesses and put unemployed people to work, or built shelters, or fed a lot of hungry people right here in America, or paid for rehabilitation of wounded vets, or many numerous other things, such as feeding the starving children of the world, that we hear so much about that can be educated and fed and clothed for so little ammount per day or to helping peoplerebuild or relocate from natural disasters.

Care to say Bill Gates favorite charities need more than any other charity?

How far would thqt money go to giving our troops a REAL "Buffett Fest" ?
A cure for cancer? A cure for AIDS?
Sam #3 wrote:Care to tell us that money could not be better spent helping our wounded vets and homeless people or creating jobs for the unemployed?

No wonder we are failing as a country when people no longer care about our own.... meaning Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.
For $1.5 BILLION a year when we are told we can adopt and feed and clothe and educate a child in Africa. How many children will that take care of?
Meanwhile what about people right here in our country and nation that have to go to sleep hungry at night or veerans that cannot afford wheelchair ramps or having their houses modifird for such use?

Thank you Mr. W. Buffett and Bill Gates for letting us know who and what you really care about.

Both of you are really making a difference....but to whom is the question!
Sam #6 wrote:So why not help their own country and people first? How many nations are donating to Africa? How much food and money is sent there ever year? How much is donated to needy people right here in America.... pick your cause....from Breast Cancer to the homeless and hungry to our wounded Veterans or HAbitat for Humanity.

So the next time you are seeking funds for your favorite charity and someone says.... "Why don't you go ask Warren Buffett or Bill Gates?" and gives you nothing....don't feel bad or be mad or upset.......after all it is THEIR MONEY and no doubt they have priorities to spend it on , but no doubt some of those people will still share a little.... More than can be said about Warren Buffett or Bill Gates....
Sam #7 wrote:Is there something wrong with helping people at home out FIRST? How many kids would be able to go to college or would not not go to sleep hungry?
How about how many "Habitats for Humanity" could be built? How many busineesses could be created to employ unemployed people or educate them to get a job?

I could go on...but why bother?
Sam #8 wrote:The infusion of that money into American charities and helping to employ people right here in America, and make them self sufficent and allow them to contribute to society, would allow them to contribute more in the long run.
Sam #9 wrote:My point is if Gates is so giving, why hasn't he given more?
Sam #10 wrote:I have my own doubts about Bill Gates but that is neither here nor there.........Especially when it comes to this kind of money being spent over seas......

Sam #13 wrote:A library in Palm Beach got a small ammount?

Tell me if JUST $10 BILLION of those dollars were donated to be spent on the NEEDY RIGHT here in America .....how many people would be helped?

He said Warren Buffett's money only goes to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as long as both of them are still alive. That's wrong, the Foundation gets the money as long as one of them is alive.

So just EXACTLY WHERE Did I say or TELL THEM HOW to spend THEIR MONEY???

I admit I did QUESTION on WHERE it was it was spent by the CHARITIES, NOT HOW Bill Gates and Warren Buffett spend their personal fortunes.

Last time I looked the word "What" and word "How" have different meanings. YOU accused me of saying what?? you just proved I never said what you accused me of. For that, I thank you.

Ok ,You got something right! :-) I admit the correction.

So what happens to the money if both are gone? What happens if not all of the money is spent?

I'm relieved to find that a thread that has gone to 8 pages/146 comments has something to do with a Buffett, even if it IS the wrong one.

I wonder what color of shirt Buffett is wearing today?

If you go back and READ (and comprehend) my earlier post, you'll see I never said you told anyone how to spend their money. I said you complained about how they chose to spend it. You asked for examples of said complaints, I gave you 13 of them.

I asked questions and said my thoughts, now if that is complaining to you and anyone else. So be it.

I am entitled to my opinions, just as you, and anyone else are entitled to theirs. No one has to like them anymore than, I have to like theirs or even listen to them.

This is or was a discussions...with different points of view. Evidently some people take that to mean only people of like opinion can voice it and anyone else that questions such a view or thinks differently than they do is what? Gee why does that sound familiar?

Yes, Sam, you were strongly expressing your opinion, but when I reread points 3,5,6,7,9,11,12 and 13, in my humble opinion, the line between merely expressing your opinion, and complaining about the choices someone else has made is excceedingly thin.
