How is it legal when they take pix of people walking in the mall without their consent?
It makes me livid when I am coming down an escalator only to find myself on the TV at the stand at the bottom. I think this is a huge invasion of privacy and demand they delete the image immediately. Is this legal?????
"put your photo on everything" stands at the mall.

Yup. You're in public domain and your likeness does not have any rights to privacy except in places where there is "a reasonable expectation of privacy" such as a public restroom. If you don't like it, your option is to simply not go to that mall or use the stairs instead of the escalator.
If you were wearing a skirt or something and the picture was up that, thats another story. You have some recourse if they use your image for commercial purposes however "girls gone wild" has made an awful lot of money from just that so it isn't 100%.
