pc question - watching movies from computer

on my television. Is there a way to do this? Is it difficult or expensive? I have some good movies on my pc but I can't imagine sitting and watching them this way.

I have a cable with an S-Video plug on one end that plugs into the S-Video port on my video card, other end has 3 RCA plugs that plug into the inputs on the front of my tv, much the same as a video game system does, and I can use my tv as a monitor that way.

Well you could always burn them to dvd and watch them that way.
