I know next to nothing, but I do at least know that America did NOT win the TdF. An American riding for a *Swiss team* won the race.

East Texas Parrothead wrote:Again, Sam. Go to a thread where you can talk about something you know . . . because you know -0- about pro cycling.

Shoo!
Perhaps I should stay Right herte and see HOW MUCH YOU KNOW......such as who works on and pays for the repairs the bikes for the riders?
Or perhaps I should just go away because YOU and someone else say so?
WHY? I did not Hijack this thread as you accused, All I did was ask a question about the French Goverment and Officials. You have as of yet to explain why that was so wrong.....You and apparently your friend, are the ones trying to make it personal. Are the two of you saying ...NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS? If so then I am most glad to know just WHO controls the race......Perhaps the French were Right in their questiong, but were asking the wrong questions of the wrong people, in the past, and should NOT be questioning you and your apparent ally.
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

PHONAK's team roster....

71 Floyd Landis (USA)
72 Bert Grabsch (Ger)
73 Robert Hunter (RSA)
74 Nicolas Jalabert (Fra)
75 Miguel Angel Martin Perdiguero (Spa)
76 Axel Merckx (Bel)
77 Koos Moerenhout (Ned)
78 Alexandre Moos (Swi)
79 Victor Hugo Pena (Col)

They have a FRENCHMAN ... and a RUSSIAN. And a couple of riders from neutral countries, not to mention SOUTH AFRICA (although Robbie didn't get to ride in with the team today --- care to make a guess as to why?)

Now, shoo! Go somewhere else.

You know zip, zero, nada, zilch about pro cycling and your presence here demeans the riders, their sponsors, support teams, mechanics, families and fans who love the sport and care nothing for gadfly detractors like you who do nothing but try to steal their thunder.

Shoo! Go home.
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.

Locking this at the author's request.

Asking questions is one thing. Stirring up *hit in what had been a perfectly nice, civil thread is quite another. The former is fine; the latter will not be tolerated.
