Zabriskie's third overall, or so says the OLN site. Discovery's Salvodelli's in 8th.

Still no word on Thor. :-?

IF I were a betting girl, I'd put my money on Team Discovery . . . George Hincapie . . . and Crazy Floyd Landis. Can't count Levi out, even though he admits he didn't train hard after the Dauphine. He'll be there in the mountains.

Have read that the Tour doctor says Thor's wound will require stitches, but shouldn't keep him out of the race. Let's hope that's the case.

They're saying it's not foam, but a cardboard hand that sliced his arm.

thanks and good to hear..
I own a couple of the foam hands and unless they were treated to
stiffen them somehow, I could not see how they would leave any more than a scratch ,if that..

still someone needs a beat down..

And I know just the SANTA CLAUS for the job!

I'll meet you at the airport in New York. We'll fly over from there.

I'm soooo serious. :D

Imagine hitting it going 45mph. They have to do something with those fans.

Now, they're saying it was a camcorder or camera that slashed Thor's arm. I haven't seen the slo-mo, but all the cycling boards are a-buzz about it.

Seems he's going to be able to return tomorrow, which is a good thing.

Wow. What a day.

They showed some clips on the evening coverage here and it
certainly looked like it was the cardboard hand that cut him.
Apparently they are from one of the main sponsors and they
are made of a very hard cardboard.

Well...OLN said the camera hit Thor in the head, but it was the cardboard at 45 MPH that cut him.

The cardboard hands are banned.

The miracle here was the cut took only 3 stitches and Thor is starting this morning.

Wow!

Sprinters have nerves and legs of steel. How Robbie McEwen does it, I'll never know. Brilliant riding, as always.

Hurshovd is back in yellow, which is good. His injury yesterday, while bloody, didn't keep him from racing his heart out today. George drops to 3rd or 4th, but no bigee. These first stages really belong to the sprinters.

Discovery rode exceptionally well. No bobbing and weaving of any of the guys I saw. Hincapie was steady all day and up front. Popo (I think) led him out at the end and was steady as a rock. Wow! These guys came ready to answer the question "What happens after Lance?"

Three Americans in the top ten. This is very, very good.

Small crash at about 3k out. Hope no one was injured.

So glad to see NO GREEN HANDS at the finish line.

I know almost nothing about the Tour except that a bunch of guys climb on bikes and ride around France. I do know that Lance Armstrong won seven times. :P I don't know one team from another or one rider from another, and have no clue about the strategies involved. But I love coming to this thread each day and reading the reports from ETP and others, and listening in on the discussion. Thanks, y'all! :D
