And he is one of the most amazing and dynamic performers I have ever seen--his connection to the audience is strong and immediate, and he gives an incredibly energetic and generous performance and each and every concert. And as wonderful as the Seeger Sessions album is, it is nothing compared to hearing it all live!

Soroya-give the Seeger Sessions album a chance-it really is wonderful, and it had grown on me each and every time I listen to it! And do catch the PBS special when it airs next month-it might change your mind on the album.
wEJRs... I love Springsteen! We listen to the all Springsteen station on Sirius, alternating with Radio Margaritaville.

I know nothing about the Seeger Sessions, however.
I really encourage you to get the album-it is terrific!

Thanks! Listening to samples now...

Have to check and see if hubby's gotten it yet. :) Otherwise, I'm buying!

I've listened to part of it twice....just can't get into it. However, I will try hard to catch the special. (Thanks for telling me - I didn't know there was one in the works.) Do you know if it will be interview, performance, or a bit of both?

Soraya-here is what was posted on the Related Artist thread:

Check your local listings.

THE BRITISH ARE COMING!
At least, one of their telly programs is. Good news for U.S. fans: that BBC program filmed live in London last month is making the leap across the pond. Newly added to the July line-up for PBS is a Great Performances presentation of "Bruce Springsteen: The Seeger Sessions Live at St. Lukes." It's a 60-minute show, available in HDTV with 5.1 surround sound, scheduled to air on July 12 at 10;30 p.m., right after the American Masters profile of Woody Guthrie. Air dates and times may vary -- some stations will be showing it earlier, on July 4 -- so be sure to check your local listings.

And, as I said, the music has really grown on me (though I did like it from the beginning).
If you catch the special, let me know what you think.

I don't hate The Boss nor am I a huge fan. I do recognize and respect his many contributions to the music world though. I would say his voice has always been a big turn off factor but like a previous poster said, I'm also a Dylan fan so go figure. I remember reading a quote from his high school vocal coach in a year-end issue of Life Magazine back when Born in the U.S.A. was all the rage and he compared Bruce's voice to that of a "dying buffalo in heat". Back in those days you wouldn't have gotten any disagreement from me but I have come to respect him over the years. Back in '85 his music was nearly inescapable which may also have a lot to do with it.

Oh, and I like what little I've heard from the Seegar Sessions. I'm not gonna rush out and buy it but I do like how Springsteen has mixed up his sound.

I respect the boss but am not into his music.
I too think it may have something to do with the voice.
He's like the Jimmy Buffett or Hank Jr. of the north.

He's like any other artist!
Some people like him, others don't.
Can't we PLEASE let that be that. JEEZ, LOUISE!!!!!

I like lots of his songs, and some I don't particularly care for.
Heck, there's even a few JIMMY BUFFETT songs I'm not at all crazy about.
Let this topic die already.

I hope you know I was just kidding. I don't really care what music people like or don't like. I can't stand the dead. I was a big deadhead in hs college, then for some reason I didn't like it anymore. I think it's funny because most of us on here seem to have alot of similar tastes. And alot of them don't like Bruce, and really don't like him, as well as DMB who I also like.
Believe me, I"m not so sensitive as to be destroyed because somebody on a message board doesn't like an artist I like. BTW- folks here have turned me on to lots of things I never thought I'd listen to before.

Oh, I know YOU were kidding, O.C.G., however, a few people seem to feel personaly insulted if someone else doesn't like a particular artist/singer they themselves like, or just has a differing opinion in general.
I believe MY feelings of certain musicians/singers have upset one or two here who can't seem to understand that the entire world does not revolve around them.
Like who you like and DISLIKE who you like, and I won't think any differently of you one way or the other. (That's not directed to you personally, but, rather, everyone in general).
I'll bet all of us are friends with at least ONE person who ISN'T a Jimmy Buffett fan. :-?

Here I thought this was another Yankee-Red sox thread. I like both bosses, whether it be Springsteen or Steinbrenner...
