julie was a finalist for the first teacher in space... #10. she watched and had to leave... still emotional about the loss

Beautiful launch from my view down at the lake. The shuttle left a nice trail so you could follow it and I could even see the separation of the rocket boosters and you could catch reflections of the sun off them as they tumbled down.

It was cool showing the launch to my son on TV and then taking him out in the front yard to watch it in the sky from here in the Jacksonville area.
It was a really good view today.

I've see a Shuttle launch from about an hour drive south of the Cape, WOW. It is an amazing sight

I was lucky enough to be in the Press area for STS-1 Columbia. My ex FIL owned a tiny radio station but it was enough to get press passes. It was one of the highlights of my life. We actually made a recording of it and along with the roar and the cheers of the people there you can hear me saying "Oh my God, oh my God!" We actually witnessed STS-3 as well from the same place. I still pull out the pictures once in a while. It was very very cool.

Shucks! ....we missed it,...but several people said you could see it from the Waterfront at St.Marys, because they did witness it.. they said it was picture perfect!! Guess we lost track of time and weren't watching for it. :(
