Right now as I type this RM is playing "Midnight At the Oasis". They are in desperate need of some changes over there. JMO.

I heard that song when at the beach in March and at least one time before that. It seems to be on their long rotation or something.

Not every song on RM is going to be everyone's favorite....

Campy, Crampy, Crappy Classic! :P

I was sort of surprized how 'risque' the song actually is if you listen to the lyrics....lol. (I was stuck behind a slow moving truck on the one road down Topsail Island....I had nothing better to do!)

I've always loved that song because of the racey lyrics. I agree that RM has changed to a more commerical format since going live moving over to Sirrus. I miss the guest DJ shows, music by many other singer/songwriters who have yet to land a contract with a "big" label and the rare tracks that Steve Huntington would pull out and play. I'm not listening to RM as much anymore because it seems to be moving mainstream on us.

Me too!...Classic 70's..:D

But you won't need no harem, honey,
When I am by your side;
And you won't need no camel, no no,
When I take you for a ride.

I wouldn't turn out the lights, turn down the lantern, blow out the candle..whatever.... :o :o :o

I actually like RM better now then before. I think Carson, Steve, Miles, and Kirsten do a great job of DJing. I think the a guest DJ every now and then would be real cool to get back to though. I do wish they would mix it up every now and then. It seems ever third Jimmy song they play is from Fenway, I get a little tired of hearing those. I wish they would just play some single tracks from some of the non-production live shows. Steve knows when JB and the CRs did a real cool version of some song and he should get those on rotation also. Just some suggestions from little old me though!

I object to the following line in this song ...

"But you won't need no harem honey, When I am by your side" :o  :P

I suppose that if agave is considered a relative of cactus - a very distant relative, mind you - we *might* consider it our friend, as it is the fount from which tequila flows (with a bit of help from the distillers). But otherwise, yeah...OUCH!

BTW, has anyone checked to see if that's the *actual* lyric, rather than a mondegreen?

Yeah, RM's definitely more commercial. But as long as they don't start playing "Muskrat Love," I think I can deal.

Loren,
RM playlist wannabe

I was thinking more about the line that goes

"put your camel to bed . . ."

I know exactly what I mean when I say I'm gonna put my camel to bed!

I don't know about ya'll, but if I worked at RM, I'd totally be digging that one up to play right now, just to see who's paying attention!

S A T U R D A Y Night! Paper Lace
And that darn Neil Sadaka song where he pimps himself with, "Sadaka's back..." :o

GEEZE, what would a Crappy Classic 70's thread turn into :P
