Finding summer clothes in the fall...

So, we took the plunge and we're going to Mexico for a week in October with the kids.

Hubby, Victoria, and I all have a pretty decent selection of summer clothes, other than a few extra things I want to pick up for myself.

But, the 'lil guy Tony is greatly suffering in the summer clothes department. He has one pair of swim trunks and a limited number of shorts, tshirts, and tank tops. It works here in Colorado because it's enough that doing his laundry twice a week keeps his clothes clean and well rotated.

However, a week in Mexico is a different story because 'lil kids get dirty and we'll be in the water much of the time.

I'm hoping to catch some summer clearance items to pick him up most of what he needs, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to do if I can't get everything I need before we go? Is there an online retailer somewhere that will have a decent selection of beachwear year-round that won't completely kill a girl's budget?

No help about the online shops.... unless you try Gap Kids or Pennys. Or of course you can tell me his size..... tell me your taste and tell me your budget. Bealls (a FL department store, Walmart, Target, Pennys here are all brimming with kiddo summer clothes!

So far the Gap, Old Navy, Children's Place, and even Target and Walmart online do not have a very good selection. I was hoping to wait until August or September to do this, but I might have to go now to catch stuff while it's still in stores.

He's a 3T/4T.

Ohhhh. And if there's a BNr out there with clothes that meet my description that they are just pining to sell or are gathering dust in the Goodwill pile, maybe we could work out a deal! I don't mind sending some cash your way to give an extended life to gently loved clothing.

BB,

why don't you do your shopping in Mexico. You can find summer items there year round, they are cheap and most of them are the same as what is sent to the USA for a increased price.

For years when I would visit my mother in Brownsville, TX we would head over to Metamoras and shop for summer cloths and cheap booze. The colors are beautiful.

I don't want to dress my son like an American tourist for the next two summers.

Hubby and I went to close to the same spot last year. They had a lot of girls clothing and not very much boys clothing.

i think i'm headed there next and craigslist too.

don't worry about shopping for my kid in vegas. my sister lives there (say hi to becky/rebecca at the bellagio craps tables iffn' ya wanna meet my kinfolk) and i'll make her do it if i need to.

No worries... I am supposed to be working too.... but telecommuting...and packing!

Just let me know. I was in Bealls and they had a slew o boys clothes. Bought a size 4T swim trunks to keep at my house for our close friends son for like $6

Old Navy will have all of their summer stuff marked down..way down...really good prices and their stuff is quality clothing, too..or I think so

I got my g'son a lot of really nice summer clothes there and got them large enough for him to wear the next summer.
