How to get to Margaritaville Orlando from Disney
Hello All, Does any one know if there is any type of transportation from Disney to Margaritaville. We are staying at Disney and would like to go to Margaritaville but will not have a car since we will be lodging at Disney

Don't know the answer, but M'ville is right beside Universal Orlando (3 minute walk, if that), so you might look for transportation to Universal.Redlordamazon wrote:Hello All, Does any one know if there is any type of transportation from Disney to Margaritaville. If I remember correctly you almost have to walk right by Margaretville to get to Universal. There is a "V" in the walkway so you can choose to go on towards the boardwalk where Margaretville is or to the right to Universal. Went to both last year and had a great time. Got to love Florida!SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Don't know the answer, but M'ville is right beside Universal Orlando (3 minute walk, if that), so you might look for transportation to Universal.Redlordamazon wrote:Hello All, Does any one know if there is any type of transportation from Disney to Margaritaville. I'd call a cab. THere's the Linx bus system but I'm not a fan of that. If you want to go to M'ville, call a cab from your resort. Disney guest services will also be able to help you out when you get there as well. Just tell them where you want to go and when and guest services will pretty much arrange the cab for ya. It's about a 15ish to 20 minute drive depending on where on disney property you're staying.... And also depends on I-4 trafficRedlordamazon wrote:Hello All, Does any one know if there is any type of transportation from Disney to Margaritaville. Thanks for the info. I figure the taxi thing was the way to go. I try to avoid them. Just a personal thing living in New york. Anyone got a idea of what the fare should be as I like to know before hand I learned that from a 100 dollar cab ride in Iceland (BOY THAT WAS ONE FRIENDLY CAB DRIVER), Thanks again All

I was just in Orlando. I was quoted $60 round trip for cab. I rented a car for $20. When you park at Universal, pay the $4 extra dollars for VIP parking (total $14). Margaritaville is in Universal City Walk, so you don't/won't have to pay admission to Universal Studios unless you want to go there too. I recommend lunch at Emeril's right next door!Redlordamazon wrote:Thanks for the info. I figure the taxi thing was the way to go. I try to avoid them. Just a personal thing living in New york. We just came back from Universal... (first week in June) Spent 5 days at Universal, Ate 5 meals at Margaritaville. My 10 & 5yr olds love eating at Margaritaville. Inside for lunch, they love the Volcano eruptions, Porch of Indecision for dinner w/ live music, people on stilts making balloon animals.
BUT, one of the best parts is directly across the walkway.... The Lone Palm Airport!!! We pulled up a chair, had some Lone Palm Ale... kids played in the sand, my 10yr old became a Ringmaster... Great place!!! Although the Hemisphere Dancer looks a little sad.

That would be my beautiful wife and lovely kids.

We go down 3-4 times a year with the Grand-Keets, and that's the best part. Have a little dinner at M'ville, Stick with the Cheeseburgers or meatloaf sammie they are the least expensive and really the best menu items, cause the food ain't that great. The Keets LOVE the eruptions and stilt walkers. Then go over to the Lone Palm and let them play whilst you relax with an adult beverage. VERY nice! Most hotels have complimentary transportation to all the theme parks, but I think that the proprietary ones do not. The car rental thing may be your best option.

cabs are easiest, a rent car is the cheapest way from Disney to Universal.
If you take a cab, it will drop you off at the base of an escalator which will take you up to a moving sidewalk which will take you to Citywalk. At the end of the moving sidewalk, go straight ahead about 100 yards and Margaritaville will be on your left. When you are ready to leave, a line of cabs will be available at the place you were dropped off.
If you drive over, parking will be $10 until 6PM, free after that. The easiest way over is to take back roads and stay off I-4. Take the Buena Vista Exit from Disney (East end of Disney) go left (north) on Apopka Vineland for five miles, right (east) on Sand Lake Rd 1.5 miles, left (north) on Turkey Lake for a little over a mile, Right (east) onto Hollywood Way into Universal then straight ahead to the parking lots.

We took a cab from the Polynesian resort and it was about $30 each way before tip. That was 3 years ago. Renting a car is definitely cheaper. You might want to look into the Disney transportation system, I thought there was a bus that took you someplace in downtown Orlando, but I was never sure where. I found out about it after we took the cab ride. If you ask someone in the lobby, they're gonna get you a cab, and while that's probably the easiest way, I was a little irritated at spending nearly $80 to get there and back. For $25 per person, you can go to the Ohana feast at the Polynesian, which is all you can eat, and it's GOOD! But if you go to MO, be sure to give careful consideration to the Cuban Meatloaf Sandwich. That thing was awesome!

Another thing to watch out for is some places try to sell you a ticket to enter the Universal City Walk ( I encountered that a couple of times) Ignore them. There is no fee for entrance to it other than the parking fees.
I can't tell you what the parking fees currently run and I know this probably won't make a difference, but the City Walk is located next to Universal Isles of Adventure, you go through the City Walk to get to the entrance. I don't know your stay at Disney but it might be worth spending a couple of days inside there. There used to be a big Holiday Inn right outside the main entrance I think it was......I might be wrong on the entrance though.... There was also a TGIF's restaurant right there if memory serves correctly.
You can check with SeaWorld and Bush Gardens ( they used to have a buy 2 day passes to SeaWorld and get a Day pass into Busch Gardens) about Season passes online. You might be surprised at the price and the savings over the Dayly rate, especially with what Disney is charging now.
Just something to think about before you go to or are at the Land of the Rat on Steroids.

Do you mean like Bob Marley's and Pat O'Brian's that section? Went to them and others. We had no trouble without any tickets. I never figured out exactly, what the tickets were for....
