I second that, whole heartedly.

And maybe, I don't know, Sea World?? Lego-Land is close too.

Would you be travelin' with 'keets? Or is this an adult only venture?

As much as we liked the zoo, you might want to check out the Wild Animal Park. Same ownership, etc., but lots of wide open spaces and it didn't seem like we were fighting the crowds so much.

Other stuff:
Koby's Swap Meet every weekend at the Sports Arena, if you're into that sort of thing. Village of La Jolla is neat to explore, as is Coronado Island and the Hotel Del Coronado. Gaslamp Quarter in the downtown area is great for walking around with lots of restaurants and clubs. Mission Beach area for the beach scene.

No keets in our household. Wild animal park sounds good.

Other than the burger place, any restaurant recommendations?

Here's another San Diego thread I dug up:
http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewto ... =san+diego

We did the zoo, Sea World, and Moonlight Beach while we were there, and stayed with hubby's brother. Most of our eating was done at his place and the other two days we spent at Disney.

I'm going to be checking out Puerto Nuevo when I'm down south next month. It's a town in Baja, about 10 miles south of Rosarito Beach (in between Tijuana and Ensenada). The town's all about lobster. There are about 30 seafood restaurants. Yum, yum!

Everyone who's been there has loved it. Would be a cool day trip for you guys.

Puerto Nuevo Is GREAT for Lobster-should cost you about $12 for a lobster dinner

I would just recommed taking the toll roads down-ITS WORTH IT

Of course IN N OUT!!! I have lived in So cal all my life and its still the best burger ever!!

Most of the restaurants in the Gas Lamp District are very good-but it depends what kind of food you are looking for........

Have Fun!!!!!

Golfing? Gee. I was picturing sandy, quasi-outdoor palapa beach dives! (Haven't been there yet!)

Seriously, if you have the chance and can get reservations, the Hotel Coronado has an unbelievable Sunday brunch. The area is a great place for people watching as well.

I was going to recommend Croce's place also. Lots of places in the Gaslamp district. We enjoy the Old Town area too. You might want to get the lay of the area by taking the Trolley tour. You can get on and off at the different places, including Old Town, Coronado, shopping center that begins with an H , little village area by the harbor. Good restuarants in Old Town also.

I just returned from SD, there is plenty to do there. Head to the Gaslap District which is downtown near PetCo Park and you will find blocks and block of bars, restaurants and clubs for any taste.

Seaport Village is also a good time and take a tour of the USS Midway.

Tijuana is only 30 Minutes away, take a trip there it is definitely worth it. A tour bus there is $30-$35RT or you can take the trolley to the border and walk across or rent a car. Only drawback is coming back into the US takes a long time 1-3+ hours. But if you take a tour bus it is a little faster because they have their own lane at customs.

We were there 6 days and didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to do.

We just returned from a few days in Rosarito Beach in which we made a trip to Puerto Nuevo for dinner. It was GREAT! Next trip, I plan on staying further south from Rosarito Beach...much more quaint and quiet! :pirate:
