Perhaps Bubba could take a page from The Rolling Stones' Licks Tour and highlight an album every night. They highlighted Let It Bleed and Exile On Main Street often. I don't think they stuck with it though - it's not safe enough (even though people - fans - would love to hear more songs off Exile than any other LP). I think they just did that in the arena shows, not the stadium shows. So there weren't that many shows like that.
Remember back in 1997 Jimmy did the Havana Daydreamin' tour? Well, maybe he should do all of A1A and put the hits around it. That's just one of 7 albums (notice I didn't say all 10) from the 1970s that do have Jimmy's hits on them that he could play the entire album of and still do the other not-his-songs hits that he does (BEGirl, SCross, etc...) as well as the more up to date/recent tracks like Fruitcakes and Barometer Soup (and hopefully before he retires Island Fever) and so on.
To know going in to a show that he's going to perform, over the course of the night, the entire album, would make me interested in going to see him again. I gave up years ago.

So I don't care WHAT songs he plays-as long as he plays them.
i agree on all accounts Gary

Me too.

ME 3!!!!
Granted there are songs I do not like that others do like. You have to take the overall good for everyone.
Considering the alloted time and JB only sings roughly 22-24 songs or so in the alloted time....I cannot see every concert being voted on as to what he should play.
Considering it is JB AND HIS BAND........I don't think anyone has the RIGHT to tell him what he must play.
All I see is this idea turning into one big nightmare for JB,THE CRB, the staff, and everyone else. People complain and b**** and whine more than enough, about the setlist as it is!
However something like a lottery MIGHT be
"SOMEWHAT FEASIBLE".
Just for an idea of how it MIGHT could be done, (*NOTE*>> Then again considering TICKETBASTARDS FIASCOES, IT PROBABLY COULD NEVER HAPPEN as "they reportedly sold nonexistant" seats.)
People that buy their tickets far in advance, to register for ONE SONG and hold a drawing for the ticket #. The ticket # holder could request ONE SONG for him to play MAYBE PER VENUE. This would allow JB and the CRB to practice the song. Any ticket could win. Or perhaps something as such, COULD POSSIBLY BE worked out. Maybe JB and the CRB would go for something like that. This not set in stone. This is just a concept/idea of how one MIGHT COULD work.
I like being surprised by the songs at concerts, I would rather not know in advance on what is going to be played in what particular order nor do I fuss about what song he closes with....NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE HEARD IT!!
If I really wanted to know the setlist in advance,...I would just play a cd.

I know I wouldn't be heartbroken if he skipped his "hits" and did a lot of the obscure stuff. I love the 70's stuff (up to Volcano). I just got the Exit Inn concert from '74 and wish I could go to a show like that where it's just Jimmy and a guitar. He plays great songs with a lot of talk in between the songs. No backup band and no elaborate sets. I guess I can only dream.
