Dog prayers needed

Post by carey24 »

So the kids next door tell me yesterday that there is a pit bull in the house across the street. His family just left him. Moved out. Apparently it has been weeks. SPCA is supposed to come get him. Someone did come yesterday to walk him. House smells like feces. There's a note on the door that he is abandoned and SPCA can take him.

I would call Animal Control, however, the SPCA promised not to put him down because they know his background. He is a nice dog.

He needs our prayers cause I know he's gotta be lonely and is gonna face a rough time at the SPCA.

I think I'm gonna call the SPCA, if they can't come get him today, I'll take him out there myself. The front window is wide open, just a screen there. He could've easily gone through it by now if he wanted.....hmmm...what if it ripped?

Do it. Just go over there and take the dog out. Leave a note that you have the dog so when the SPCA comes they will know where to go.

I hate owners like that.

I hate "owners" like that too.
PLEASE go get him, keep him as long as you can, and if you do, I'll send you a few $$$$ to get him some food and for his shots.
Let me know, okay?

Awww..that poor thing. I just don't understand how people can be so irresponsible.

I wish I lived on a big farm with lots of land - I'd rescue a ton of dogs.

Just last week, an animal adoption company was raided in a nearby county. They found 200 animals - dogs, cats, rabbits - many were diseased and had parasites and several were dead and many had to be put down. VERY SAD and upsetting situation.

The community has come together and donated alot of volunteer time, $, etc. to save these animals. The shelter there is overcrowded and many are quarentined. It's a very sad situation. Apparently this Star Ridge Adoption had been adopting animals out at the new Petco in town. After complaints they stopped it a few months ago, but they are taking some heat for it.

I know we can't help out everybody, but if any of you would like to help here is the article with the story and contact info: http://olive.dominionpost.com/Repositor ... kin-custom

You need to be carefull here, Recently there was a story on the news in the Seattle area where a lady took matters into her own hands with a bunch of abandoned puppies. She was arrested and charged with trespassing even though she had probably saved the puppies lives. The owner claimed to be taking care of them at night and was gone all day.
The puppies were in a locked trailer with no ac or open windows and the lady said it was damned hot when she got the door opened and got the puppies out.

Haven't heard if they actually took her to court but I damn sure hope not. I think she did the right thing myself.

Agreed, be CAREFUL in whatever actions you take. We don't need you in the pound as well...

"Owners" like that can expire painfully and decompose in an abundance of their own excrement.

Is that a nice enough way to phrase it?
