Thankfully, no one in my family has them (yet). Both hubby and I had them as kids and both the kids have been immunized (which is about 90% chance they'll never even get them).
One of our neighbors who Victoria plays with has the Chickenpox (and was immunized, go figure), so we got the call last night to keep an eye out for the spots.
Had them as a kid. There was a kid on our street who got them so my mom sent us over there to play. Intentionally infecting us. There is the RN coming out in her. Better to have them as a kid than as an adult.

My mom sent me to one of my friend's house to infect them, too.
I've never had them, just lucky I guess (or unlucky with 2 little kids in the house). My oldest, Teressa, has had them 3 times, and my sister has had them twice (as an adult both times). Reoccurances were at least a year apart on both occasions...
I thought you were only supposed to get them 1 time?

My daughter Steph, and her mom Norma had chickenpox when they where young, Steph has a scar on her nose ( DO NOT SCRATCH ) them. Norma just had shingles (Adult version) It was bad no fun,
Good Luck
Don't remember the age but I've been told we were at the top of Pikes Peak on a cross country trip with a blizzard going on and mom looked in the back seat and both my sister Xena and I broke out with them
Of course now I get shingles (what you get once you have had the chicken pox - same virus)
had them when I was 8...all 4 of us kids had them at about the same time..my mom put us all together to get it over with.
Both of my boys also had them at a young age...got them before I decided if I wanted them to have the immunization...nothing to worry about now.
Except, my younger son got shingles...the adult version of chicken pox...and that was bad!
I've never had chickenpox... I used to teach, so I was exposed to them several times and my children had chickenpox when my boys were 12 and my daughter 10. I guess I just have a natural immunity to them.
I have had them twice. A very mild case when I was 4 and a very severe case when I was 18. It was no fun when I was 18. We never could figure out where I got them from.
