The Padres may have drafted Smith, and had him for his first four years, but his hall of fame credentials came from his many years as a Cardinal

I liked Albert okay as a player....and the one time I saw him downtown he was pleasant....though I wouldn't say friendly.

Thome....grrrr.....he's was persona non grata in our home even before he left. Drove Ron (*my hubby*) NUTS that instead of going for a hit, he'd always have to be swinging for the fence. I can't count how many times he struck out doing that. Just the other day we were at at Durham Bulls game and has a young player swinging for the fence and striking out. Rocky piped up with, 'Who does he think he is? Thome?' Ron and I just about died laughing!

When the BA in BALCO means your home area, I'm sure many oak-San fran athletes ( of course along with many others) were roiding it at the time...

I'd replace George Kell with Charlie Gehringer, but I'd agree with the other four.
Kell, Greenberg, Cobb were all before my time....Kell was the TV announcer to me :D

Loved the tigers of my childhood.....Kaline, Northrup, McAulliffe, Cash, Wert, Lolich, Whittaker, Trammel, Horton, Fridrych, Freehan etc.
