OK so I'm just off the phone with my Bank
and Two weeks ago it was Delta..

As I am hanging up I hear.. and thank you for calling
>insert bank name< and
thank you for calling DELTA AIRLINES

does it seem to you they are pretty much saying
you are a total Imbred Idiot and do not even remember who you called
you are so brain dead


am I alone??

It kinda makes sense for the bank to say it as they change names about twice a week these days...

They all do it, I'm at a point where I really don't pay attention to it.

If you are calling them this late at night, its usually a drunk dial and a few reminders can't hurt!

duuuude... by the time I get thru the movie previews in the theatre, the commercials, and the psas... half the time I gotta stop and think about what show I am there to see. :D:D

This is what our company wants us to do when answering and ending a phone conversation with a customer.
They say the more people hear the name of the company it will stay with them.
I say, "whatever"

One lady asked one of the service advisors one day is he thought she was too stupid to know who she called. He has since not followed the "script".

Its called Branding. Marketing departments want name recognition and identity branding.... they want you to think about them first when you have the need.

Look at Kleenex.... who asks for a tissue? NO ONE.... most ask for a Kleenex.

And I hate to say it.... they are right.

Thats why billions of $$$ are spent on advertising every year.... Most people want to be told what to buy, use, wear, eat ......

What I hate more than anything is when I am on hold and the music stops. I perk up thinking that I am about to get an operator only to get the recording that says, "Thank you for continuing to hold."
