Mid east violence.
Alright, here is the place to argue, bicker, debate the escalation of violence in between Israel and Hezbollah/Lebanon/possible others.
What do I think. Israel has the right to defend themselves from terrorists.

I agree Israel has the right to defend itself, but if some compromises aren't reached soon in this crisis, the whole world is going to pay a huge price, both in cash and in misery....

If I live to be 1000, I'll NEVER understand all this hatred toward Israel.
YES, they have the right to defend themselves, even if it means pre-emtive strikes.
How brave are those arab morons for killing children and elderly Jews just because they ARE Jewish!
Not to mention they're holding the rest of the world by the balls because everyone seems to think that's the ONLY place in the world where oil is.
Others may enjoy paying $3.50-$4.00 a gallon for gas, but I don't!
But the thing that baffles me the most is the sheer hatred toward Israel. No rhyme or reason for that.

Which angers me even MORE when all these "independent studies" say there is no evidence of price gouging. MY ACHING A$$!!!!!!!!!z-man wrote:It never ceases to amaze me to watch the pump price go up as soon as the spot price of oil goes up, even though the gas at the pump was refined weeks ago, and its cost is totally unrelated to the current price of a barrel of crude.
W.T.F. is an independent study anyway, and WHO are the morons doing them?
Then, of course, there's our lovely elected officials of BOTH parties who say "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT."
wanna bet there's nothing we can do?

I don't think a single liberal has posted in this thread, Troy.live2ski wrote:Mods please delete this thread. The liberals are too stupid to see past the price of gas.
I understand where you are trying to go with this, but for the purposes of trying to start the discussion/debate, people are obviously going to reckognize and post about the impacts that affect them foremost.
Give it some time and it will start touching the more humanitarian aspects. THATs what the hippies like me will post about.

another thought...... I doubt that any of the people lobbing munitions at each other have given one moment of thought to oil..... it's not part of the equation....
and the reasons the Israelis are hated is literally ancient history.... it's not something that is going to go away....

It is sad, however, that the price of oil is how this whole thing is commercialized, though.buffettbride wrote:I don't think a single liberal has posted in this thread, Troy.live2ski wrote:Mods please delete this thread. The liberals are too stupid to see past the price of gas.

For most of us in this country, the senseless and continual attacks in the mideast impact us most directly at the gas pump. How this concern equates to liberalism escapes me!live2ski wrote:Mods please delete this thread. The liberals are too stupid to see past the price of gas.

I use the term liberal to describe anyone not smart enough to understand an issue. In this case, Oil is a very small concern. There are much larger forces at work.buffettbride wrote:I don't think a single liberal has posted in this thread, Troy.live2ski wrote:Mods please delete this thread. Ski,
I vehemently disagree with your comment! Sorry you did want oil to be part of a thread about the Middle East. Calling people stupid because the content of a post with less than 20 responses does not meet your expectations is simply short sighted, regardless of one’s political ideology.
