I live on Cape Cod and we have a local radio station that plays a half hour of Buffett in friday afternoons. The show is called "The Friday Buffett Buffet."
Todays set list started with "Changes in Latitudes", then came "Trip Around the Sun" followed by Volcano. The final song really through me for a loop when the station chose Jimmies version of "Jingle Bells" from Christmas Island.
I have to admit it was a helluva way to end the week
I am having Christmas Dinner this Tuesday .... we always do "Christmas in July" in Australia ...... it's always too hot in December to do the traditional English hot christmas dinner - so we have it in July as well

101.9 Cool 102
nice to live near a station that plays a Buffett Buffet.....
Boy am I jealous!
I tried to request a Buffett tune on our local station one day during their "All Request Lunch Hour" but since they had played "Margaritaville" during the 10:00 hour, they wouldn't play another Buffett song. I tried to convince the DJ that he would make a lot of people in his listening area very happy but he said his bosses didn't agree.
I love the Christmas Island CD and I like when Christmas songs are played randomly....when we were in the British Virgin Islands on Jost Van Dyke (in April), we passed by a pirate-themed bar named Corsairs and they were BLASTING "White Christmas" and there were only 2 locals sitting there. Pretty funny scene.

Hence the reason why I just listen to CD's and the iPod about 75% of the time in the car and AM radio (read sports) about 24% of the time. There are about only 3 FM stations I will listen to, and trust me when I say they won't play Buffett (maybe VERY rarely on one).
Even the more popular artists that I listen to, such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the material is only "Yellow Album" songs, and like with Buffett, I like listening to the not so popular songs as much as the popular ones.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
When I had my boat at the marina, I would crank up Christmas in the Carribean or "The Christmas Album and I had a small Christmas tree sitting on deck, and once or twice I gave out some gag gifts or a beer or little something,to various people in the marina and tell them "MERRY CHRISTMAS".
Oh well......you had to be there.......
